@HardRainProductions no personal bias at all. I am sure that many loved her for her beauty/what ever... I actually just think her Voice is very "low" and depressing/off key....Whether Jackson Browne endorsed it or not, her voice just gives a very down feeling to a beautiful song.
Wes Anderson is the most talented director around today. His movies can have me laughing hysterically in one scene and then crying in the next. A feat I have yet to see copied to date. His films are always such unique experiences to watch. I have yet to be disappointed by any of his offerings.
Wes Anderson did that scene with Richie attempting suicide in such a way that you don't think, "This is bloody and gross," but more like, "Oh my God..." Because you know Richie and how he feels about Margot.
Bravo! Beautifully done. Wes Anderson has a knack of making your side split from laughter one moment.....and in the next.....bring you to tears. I think a great label for him would be a "sentimental nerd"...which IMO is a great compliment.
haha, either way, its a good description. I think he just has a talent of making every shot so filled with life and energy, through his use of music, the framing, and presentation of the characters that every second is just overwhelming. It's like every scene is a tribute to the power of living, and creativity, and joy, even the sad ones.
OH wow. Wes Anderson always has THE best soundtracks...either chosen songs, like this one (or the Kinks, etc...), or ones written by Mark Mothersbaugh. I love this.
its a great version. but the fact that browne wrote the song at the age of 16 is remarkable and a testament to him as a singer songwriter. not to mention his version is badass as well.

I can't believe how badly this chick butchered this song. She sounds like absolute shit...... Listen to Jackson Browne, the original artist. Or even better yet, Gregg Allmans version of Browne's.... This version is a total disgrace....
I think the ending from A Day in the Life was an interesting touch...I always thought that guy was saying "uh, Gus Van Sant, uh Gus Van Sant..." which is obviously impossible...but the fact that it's in a video dedicated to another similarly creative director. Interesting.
I love this song. Amazing job on the video! Where did you get all those beautiful pictures? Especially the Royal Tenenbaums ones I've been looking all over for pictures from that movie.
the tallest man on earth's cover of this song is so good too.

The one scene that gets me every time is:
"So what brings you to India?"
"Well I guess we were on a spiritual journey, but that didn't pan out..."

These days was written by Jackson Browne who is probobly the best singer songwriter living. He wrote it when he was 16 and he's 61 now.
