  • I can do this with chicken??

  • @layapla2 Yes, cerrtainly. Chicken is best cold (leftovers). Use a chicken broth instead of the beef. There are a few recipes on the net. Search Chicken Bitterballen (same thing but round) or kroketten. There are many different recipes but the beef is the most popular. cheers! KtC

  • I can't believe you made kroketten! I lived in the netherlands for a couple of years and I LOVE EM. However in the Netherlands the meat is gooey as hell and to be honest I think your recipe might be even better!!!

  • @wobinidan They canbe a bit gooey depending on the recipe. Thank you, I try to mix up the recipe here and try to address many types of foods. cheers, KtC

  • Here's a variety:

"Croquettes in Poland are basically made from a thin rolled pancake stuffed with mushrooms, meat, cabbage, sauerkraut or combinations of those ingredients, then covered in breadcrumbs, fried in a pan and usually served with a clear soup like borscht."

The ones with mushrooms are very popular on Christmas tables along with Borscht , at least in my parts ;) 2-3 Krokkets and your're loaded for good

Mushrooms and shredded cheddar - best stuffing :] Topped with ketchup. Yummy

  • @SouthernSky These sounds really good. Thank you for passing on the recipe for folks. Will have to try soon. cheers! KtC

  • I think I will try this with some chicken breast white meat and the appropriate stock. . Really miss those Weaver Chicken Croquets. Thanks for the post and all the effort you put into making these videos..

  • @greggreg88 The chicken ones are good too. Yes, just use the chicken broth and unlike the beef you can use day old chicken (leftovers or make them fresh). cheers, KtC

  • I wonder if you will ever do videos at 1 minute and 1 second, then I am gonna complain about it.

  • @maplefreak26 I have on a couple (unintentionally). But I made it up on the next ones at 0.59 lol

    KtC

  • looks like fried sasuages and what exactly is dutch mustard?

  • @kent0149 kind of I suppose. Many foods like this. Dutch mustard is well 'Dutch'. There are many varieties of mustard. All work depending on your taste. This being Dutch certainly worked well with their type of mustard. You have to try. cheers! KtC

  • Looks Great...I could eat those gor breakfast anytime, and love that mustard.

  • @koolbossjock I did have some the next day early enough. Pop them in the oven to warm them up. Tasty! cheers boss! KtC

  • @fezan84 okay!

  • Those look very interesting...Oh, And damn tasty of course!

  • @Trollvomit Of course :) thank you, KtC

  • I want to try one!

Never heard of these before, I love when I discover new things like this.

Lots of steps in this, but they look delicious. How is the texture when you bite into the final result? Is it mushy inside?

  • @yoyomax12 Hi Tammy. Yes, crispy/ crunchy on teh outside and bit mushy on the inside. (Think stewing beef..)

The recipe can be worked with left over roast beef however, it is best (beef ones) to start fresh. There are many versions. The chicken is good. Dutch mustard or hot/ whole grain type is a must. Worth trying for sure. Great for guests.

    Happy Thanksgiving! KtC

  • good job on making real dutch krokets ! its a real dutch fastfood snack if you want i can learn you how to make parmasean bitterballs or samon bitterballs on the dutch way i must say this video are diffrent krokets then we usualy eat :P

  • @woody1337lol Thanks Woody. I did have better luck than with my Bavarois. I plan to try again soon with an old teacher. He will clear it up for me. Yes, pass on the bitterbalen recipes. I think I have only had manufactured types over there. even in the pubs. Like most foods even here, not too many are made fresh. I had an Dutch lady go through it with me at a Dutch market here. Her's too were a bit odd looking. Tasty though! Thank you, KtC

  • never had them...a little too much effort for me tho

  • @filipinofantasy Worth the effort. Most foods are though. cheers! KtC

  • Man, you never fail to make my stomach growl with joy!

  • @exussupremebeing Happy to oblige!

  • This recipe looks amazing!

This is almost a similar recipe to kabobs, minus the bread crumbs. Instead of the beef broth, add bone marrow, then before the time comes to the forming the beef into shapes, mix a little potatoes (after they're boiled), tomatoes, and some pepper.

  • @DJMight They are similar. There are many varieties and methods on the sme foods. Just depends where you are. This method is popular in the Netherlands. KtC

  • hhhmmmm krokets :)

  • @eyeeatpoopiee mmmmmm

  • lol i love how it looks like little mr hanky poos, im gonna make it

  • @acf870 Mr. Hanky lol

  • wow, a lot of cook, cook the meat, then you bake the whole thing, then deep fried in batter lol

  • @flamedrag18 Some great foods just take awhile. The first part is really just preparing the beef. Often leftovers are used. cheers, KtC

  • For those of you wondering: Kroketten are a warm snack in Holland

It might look a bit nasty (atleast in the video, in Holland we mostly can buy them and not make them ourselves) but they are delicious.

  • @Pluiz2006 Thanks for sharing the info. I agree. It is difficult to find an unmanufactured type. Homemade are the best and the appearance is up to the pro, who makes them often. Some just look better than others depending who makes them. cheers! KtC

  • I like em with sauerkraut with mushrooms. Here, it's done by putting the stuff into a rolled crepe, then it goes breadcrumbs. Cheers Ktc

  • @SouthernSky There are a few methods and varieties. Your descriptions sounds very tasty. Thanks for sharing southern_ cheers, KtC

  • I love when you put the finished food on some salad and serve with dip! It looks so delicious! :D

  • @ResponsLive lol It just looks nicer and you can always nibble on the greens. cheers! KtC

  • I wish it took me 1 minute to make dinner every night haha

  • @rachiibuu It does take practice. Also, a time machine. cheers! KtC

  • it lookt like poo at one point lool

  • @KlondikeBar86 A lot of good food does. cheers! KtC

  • Come be my chef...

  • ive never heard of these before..but once again great video looks soooo good..i got to stop watching you vids at night..now i must go eat lol keep on rockin bro

  • @rogerlee337 Thanks! They are a Dutch snack. Available at pubs and restaurants. They are sold frozen too (to be heated). Not found much around here in N.A. however, try a Dutch style deli.

    cheers! KtC
