There is another explanation why people are so more afraid of the psychopath. People are just very bad at intuitively understanding small probabilities, and the outrage associated with being murdered is proportionally stronger than the actual understanding of the risk.

Still the differentiation between fact and interpretation is a very vital one for understanding the world.
