  • The problem this ignores is the fact that addicts would still be nonfunctional.

  • Yo, is there a moral question here at all?

  • legalize it!

  • If drugs were legalized, then thugs would figure out how to make 'easy money' in some other way. Organized crime didn't vanish after alcohol prohibition was ended. Just look at Mexico's case now in 2009. Drugs are harder to profit from, so now thugs and/or poor-turned to criminals are resorting to extortion and kidnapping instead.

  • His assumption that putting crack in CVS would drive down the profits is absurd on it's face. The continuing rise of the anti-depressant market-a far more vile scourge than crack ever was- is testament.

I'm a drug war dissident, and even I have to admit that.

  • Wow... I'd love to see more discussion on this anti war on drugs ideology.

  • Yep, there's a lot to be said for legalizing drugs. It could end the criminal drug business, which is where so much of the damage is done here and Mexico, Columbia, the Carribean, etc...

    Let's try it.
