i'm fairly new to hip-hop but the Black Thought, Mos Def, and Common are my all time favorites...Black Though is a master of words and is the best lyricist i've EVER heard!!!!
MosDef & Common Aint that same ol' everybody basically sayin the same thing just usin different words, hardcore, fuk the world dont ask me 4 shit type rap Dont get me wrong they all had to struggle to get where they at & I feel that, stay true 2 ur dream but These guys come wit real/deep/make u think type lyrics Thats where its at, Glad ol'school opened the doors for them all but 2day's hip hop, real hip hop is what a whole lotta peeps need 2 b listenin 2
why don't mos.. black thought.. kweli and common just make a group and take over hip-hop... i've already got the perfect name for the cipher..."visine 4 ur 3rd eye"...that shit would be ill SON.
They already are part of a collective: The Native Tounges, with countless collarborations on each other's albums. They don't need a formalized group like G-Unit; they're strong enough emcees to hold themselves down independently, yet come together to synergize a common message (no pun inteneded).
I GUESS IT'S JUST MY BEING GREEDY FOR GOOD HIP HOP...i just wish we could flood the market with THE QUALITY REALNESS..as opposed to the shuckin' and jivin' bullshit that's on BET MTV AND THE RADIO THAT THEY CALL HIP HOP.. PEACE..
