The Deltic is a tough nut to crack in OO; the speakers simply cannot reproduce the necessary low frequencies. I don't have a full set of good engine sounds yet but I'm working on it. I do have a project in preparation including some great playable horns but until I get the engine sounds of the quality I need, it's on hold. The layout is approx 14 feet by 10.
exellent sound best iv heard, im looking for a proper deltic sound as the decoders sound nothing like them, any ideas, have you got a vid on here of one, beautifull layout by the way, what size is that,?? thanks
Passengers are not cheap but make a big difference to the appearance. I put smoked acetate down the aisle so you can still see them but not right through to the other side of the coach.
Great vid and some fine detail. The passengers are a great feature too. I have experimented with putting passengers in a coach too and it looks pretty good. Keep up the good work!
Hi do you mind showing us the speaker and what speaker did you use?? Im a fan of hst's and have many of them one in which has sound but I am not entirely happy with it yet!! cheers andy
@MrJezza31 The recording was made by a friend of mine and fellow ukdccsound member. I don't think he noted the unit number. It's often the case that the sounds on any given chip come from more than one loco or unit anyway, an amalgam of the best sounds from each of the recordings available.
I don't model in this period but just wanted to comment on that beautiful model and awesome sound! Haven't seen that model before, must have missed it first time around and I guess it's been replaced in the catalogue by more modern stuff now. Lovely idling sounds!
Yes, try DCC Supplies.

This is Hornby's much improved second go at the HST. It's still available from them, in this and other liveries, thoroughly recommended.
