Ladies and Gentleman, this is what Steve Jablonsky is really capable of. Dont get me wrong: I like his Transformers-Scores, especially the first (but the third also has its fair share of Epicness) but this is on a whole nother Level!
He is one of the Composers who just needs the right director to bring out his talents.
I just saw this movie yesterday, and I'm so glad I found the score because it's just as amazing.
That being said, however, the war between Steamboy and Transformers needs to stop. They are both great films with incredible Jablonsky soundtracks. Both of them.
my beef with the transformers soundtracks is that its based off of the linkin park songs which are epic but i think if he had the freedom to make the music off the top of his head it would sound better
@JoeSnyderwalk Jablonsky, in mediaventures (Zimmer`s studio) work at the shadow of his big boss.,Zimmer itself, repeating the old Zimmer's popcorn blockbuster music formula (chan chachachan chan!). Like Jablonsky, the best Zimmer scores are the less known, like The Thin Red Line, a masterpiece far from Michael Bay's summer blockbusters...
@DarkPyro9224 I believe they're comparing the music, both Steamboy and Transformers soundtrack was done by Steve Jablonsky. And of the two the music he wrote for Steamboy is the more impressive of them.
STEAMBOY IS NOT JUST A ANIMATION BUT THE ART ! I'VE NEVER SEEN LIKE IT !

Steve's music inspired half of my comic book story ideas. Music like this makes you imagine things you thought you could never imagine.

Steamboy is underrated, great film and one of the few Animes where I can actually stand the dubbing.
GO STEAMBOY!!!!

Steamboy, grand movie and music. Maybe, maybe not, I bet Ray could take on a Transformer with his steam ball or steam pack(ending credits)

Would people enjoy it less if it WERE in Transformers? How can you rate a song by comparing it to the movie it was used in?

@3lvewyn "How can you rate a song by comparing it to the movie it was used in?" Subjective emotional resonance.

This soundtrack is absolutely amazing It foes from dark and desperate, to despair, then to heroic and victorious, then finally peaceful...

What is it with Steve Jablonsky? His best music he writes for his least-known films! Why couldn't this be in Transformers, eh?

@JoeSnyderwalk as a rule of thumb, you aren't allowed to do music over again.
though he still kicks ass with some of the newer things, this shows how much he used to rock
ANevine 1 year ago
@ANevine I don't mean he should copy this into Xformers, I just wish the Xformers score, awesome as it is, had the same level of quality as this :)
