  • Music cantik, unik , bukan musik gampangan.

  • very good......

  • it makes me wanna cry, I't been long time 24 years never played Gamelan. Thanks a lot to all people who played this music Indonesian or not, you all succesfully delivered the "Javanese Soul"

  • Everyone, from rebab player to bonang to kendhang, is reading notation -- for a ketawang??? Seems like they could have memorized this music before making a video of this easy repertoire

  • half of you people arent even indonesian -.-

  • @Rafzorz1 CHOMEHERE was right....

Nowadays most of our country youth almost don't care about this heritage anymore....

They're prefer foreign culture which more easy-listening....

Still, I love this song indeed, very calming...

  • wow, ini baru menyejukkan nonton bapak-bapak bule nggending .....

  • Bravo Bravo!!! Love it, thank you!!! encore!!!!

  • yeah thats right,

but i think its its not only in Indonesia but also happend in another country. May be next future, the culture will be changed. We will difficult to find javanese culture in Indonesia, but easy in west

Wis mboh wih, ben podo eling marang jati dirine.

  • so beautiful sound

  • So, what kind of gamelan songs are these? With what are they associated?

  • this is a kind of poem musicalisation (megatruh and sinom are two kinds of metre found in javanese "tembang", a kind of old poetry form). Megatruh related to death, whereas sinom is usually related to birth/rebirth. These songs are usually heard as background music during ceremonies, I suppose.

  • Is there any plan to make a concert in the near future? also with traditional Javanese dance?

  • No, but you can always visit our rehearsals in the museum Nusantara, Delft, Saturday 11-12 and 12:30-13:30.

  • Wonderful! Very serene, majestic, and meditative....

  • I use the first 30s of Babr Layar (after the buka) as my ringtone, if you are interested I can send a copy.

  • gamelan is cool !! it should go international more often, there is no instrument can make that kinda sounds. i put it for ringtone, anyone know good titles?

  • Thanks for upload. Very apreaciated. This is very valuable cultural heritage.

  • they should have javanese resturaunts in england

  • Could you invite me to open one. I am Javanese and I am good at cooking Javanese food.

  • The Javanese culture is actually as amazing as other more-mainstream Asian cultures (like Japanese or Chinese). Too bad it is not yet well known in the international world :(

  • young indonesian mostly do not like gamelan. they prefer rock, pop, dangdut. in my city of yogyakarta itself it's difficult to find young people who are able to play gamelan.

  • Really nice. I was able to hear the rebab a lot better in this one, but the Gong Ageng didnt seem loud enough. Really nice sound overall.

  • You can get the original sound recording (made separately on a CD recorder from our web site, look for "Marsudi Raras". It was tough to get a good balance in the museum.

  • As women who I was born on central JAVA im SO PROUD BECOUSE,im REALLY LOVE THIS MUSIC IT'S SO PEACE.

  • That is the best art ever,bravo..Java.
