Sun Dog and a very bright one at that. I have filmed a lot of them in my area lately. We have had a sun halo for 6 days in a row, in Oregon. It is a normal phenomenon as many explain,that usually doesn't happen very often, however, it is happening more frequently since the aerosol distribution of who knows what in our atmosphere via jet chemtralis. Nice catch!!!

These are called sundogs. They're not real common... rather rare, but nowadays, with all the crap in the sky from chemtrail spraying, you see them all the time. I have some photos of them, and they look very much the same.

I live in Winnipeg and see this phenomenon often, except during hot days. They are called sundogs, the effect of which is caused by ice crystals in the upper atmosphere reflecting sunlight. There is usually a second sundog opposite the other one, in relation to the sun. I have even seen the effect create a rainbow that encircles the sun. Look at the sky more you will see sundogs often in Winnipeg.

Sundogs only appear in the atmosphere when it is very cold, unless there is a lot of particulate matter in the air. If you do live in Winnipeg you probably should know that.

Btw... sundog or any ice halo can appear in atmosphere if have ice crystals (or the called "diamond dust" or cirrus clouds with them). Not necessaryly need to be cold for that, because I live real close of tropics and we have Ice Halos here =)

I'm in Ontario and this past summer (August I think) I saw a sun halo and a small sundog, but I thought these things only formed when there are ice crystals? I realize way up the air is colder but on a hot day, why would there be a halo? It was clear skies too.

you mentioned in the video that "it was a chemtrail day" so i know that you are aware of what they are spraying up there... one of the sprays i know is aluminum based and they spray it to reflect the suns rays back up into the atmosphere to relieve global warming. But there are other reasons they spray that I think you should be aware of... notice how they spray around sunrise and sunset? They do it to obscure our view of the SECOND SUN THAT IS CREEPING INTO VIEW.. Planet-X.

This is a tanget arc. It's often seen with a 22 degree sun halo and 'sits' on top of it. You didn't see the sun halo, just the tangent arc. I photographed a 22 degree halo + tangent arc today, 14th Jan 2009. I am very pleased to see one at last. Thanks for your video, well done :-)

It's the chemtrails. The solid particulate matter ground down to almost nano size and suspended in the atmosphere. I've seen these faked rainbows in Barcelona (Catalonia), exactly the same. They just have a reddish or light purple color, and it's not the usual rainbow. The phenomena you photographed is a common one, responsible for the phenomena known as "sundogs" as well when the angular distance from the edge of the Sun and suspended ice crystals in the air is woder than the apparent diameter of the Sun. What you are seeing is something we see almost every day in Southern California when the wind blows strongly toward the West.
