  • I once dropped my Canon EOS7D on the ground...except a few scratches on the lens hood and battey grip, both the camera and lens (24mm f1.4) were fine.

    You should get a Canon!

  • Always use the strap... noob!

  • @jama01 It. Was. On. A. Tripod.

  • So a 1700$ camera broke in one faling ?

  • @SlideR270295 well it was a bit less at that time 1250$ for the body...

  • Ouch.

  • I want this video on my my301X unit.

  • Nikon sucks. Justice has just been achieved. Canon rocks

  • It used to be a good camera, unless it got an arrow in it's knee

  • did you take a lunchbreak or are you stupid enough to not be around when you have your camera on your tripod...lesson always stay 3 feet or one meter away from the camera don't expect the tripod to be a security of not failing badly

  • @TheChill0ut well obviously i was too far from the tripod - it was more or less in reach but i looked to the other side and realized it to late... anyway this lesson was learned - i would say never take the hand of the tripod outdoors. :(

  • There must be a lesson to be learned here...

  • it used to be a tripod, then it took an arrow in the leg lock

  • =(

  • wtf is this on youtube charts?

  • And another camera bites the dust.....

  • @WolvesOfEurope ...bites the mud... ;)

  • Omg!!!!

  • nikon would be nowhere without SONY

  • damn!!

  • arr.. that's sad :( would you tell us what tripod brand and model that you are using?

  • NOOOOOOOO

  • What brand/model tripod were you using?

  • @dierless on old rather heavy silk tripod - obviously i did not secure it enough :(

  • now you can get yourself a brand most pros use ... a canon

  • @TiredOfTheBuIlshit I saw videos with the same troubles with canon camera, but it falls in a regular water there. Try to search on canonrumours.

  • @TiredOfTheBuIlshit Kind of like how trendy sheep use Apple. Must be the best right? I wonder if all the "pros" this guy is talking about can capitalize a sentence. I'm "tired of the bullshit" too ;-)

  • @TiredOfTheBuIlshit nice trolling

  • @TiredOfTheBuIlshit canon and nikon are equals. you can't go wrong with either. don't be a douche.

  • @mikeymike4g63 my friend who was with me, was shooting with a canon 5D Mark II, obviously a very good camera. the d7000 is not that powerful but it is much cheaper and you can get very good pictures and movies if you know how to use it and be careful enough to not let i crash into a sulfur hot spring!!!

  • @angulomortotv Yeah the 5d is a step above the d7000. The d7000 could be compared to the 7d, some say its superior. What lens were you using? I'm surprised the lens mount broke, was it a plastic mount lens or metal? I really hope you get it replaced for free :(

  • @mikeymike4g63 the lens was a AF-S DX 18-105 VR - cheap lens with a plastic mount. on the whole shoot (ten days) i used it for the first time and this was a bad idea - with a proper lens with metal mount the damage would have been much less...

  • Under your tripod there should be a hook/clip/hole try cliping you camera bag to it thats what its there for. They also sell rock bags does the same thing. $20 will save you K's. Celticmoonphotography find us on FB.

  • @bongotoo1 i never thought about that - thank you for the hint, that makes perfect sense..

  • Well ouch. That must have hurt. Always insure your equipment. It's worth the extra money to put a special rider on your insurance. Every piece of my Nikon equipment is insured, even a small window mount tripod.

  • @JGraceyStinson i general you are right, but then again how often does one destroy the equipment - it was the first time in more then ten years that i damaged a camera - and i have the experience that the insurance companies always try to find a loophole to escape ....

  • it made me cry too. was an horrible experience..

johnlsl: i will never take my hand of the tripod during filming in open air. ithink thats rule number one. one other problem was that the lens mount was plastic (one of the cheap nikon zooms) thats why the lens broke of right away if not i guess i would have had some repair costs not more....

thank you all for the comments!

  • Make me want to cry.

  • @shaunhayward Oh ffs. It's a bloody camera, a tool, an extension of your creativity. Not a freaking human being, animal, living organism. Get over it!

  • @w0ble well i had to get over it anyway - the next day i had to continue the shooting...

    ;)

  • CAMERA ABUSE

  • For your sake I hope this goes viral and you get some money back...

  • One i also got my camera fall with the tripod on a slippy ground, luck the lens hood take all the damage and I only need to send the lens back to replace the lens hood.

Since than I always try to follow 2 rules when I use a tripod

    1. Hold the camera strap when possible

    2. put a lens hood on when possible (the are the first line of defence when there is a drop for whatever reason)
