Okay, Like you should already know this but YOU ARE A AMAZING ARTIST!!!! >:D Jellousy! lol I envy your ability to complete your sketches xD. I love your videos and Just wanted to ask your opinion on saving up for a cintiq tablet (like the super expensive pro one) and skipping the baby steps or getting a regular tablet that connects to a computer like Intous 4 .
It BAFFLES me how much I learned from this one video. Finger lengths, thumb and wrist placement, knuckle placement. Even with your "Its 4am, I should probably make a video" voice, I took in and understood everything. I just recently dropped out of college and this is why. I'd rather learn from peers than from a worn out professor who just needs a paycheck.
Hey man I want to say thanks a lot for this. I have struggled to draw hands for years and This is approach is different than anything else I have seen. Your short hand is simple and to the point. This is really a great place to start and I cant thank you enough for sharing.
I am only 9 minutes into the video and I am already learning!!! Wow all the books on how to draw hands that I read are not as helpful as this video :D thank you good sir!
omg i love you XD your amazing at making videos and your drawing is awesome. i couldn't find any video that were good and when i found one it just confused me. but this was easy to understand and now my hands are looking a hundred times better.thank you so much for taking the time to do this.
Thank you very much for videos like this Sycra. I've learned so much from watching your videos and I went from drawing terribly to drawing things I'm proud of (still not too great though lol). I really like the way you did this tutorial and I really hope to see more videos like this in the future. Thanks.
Thanks for posting. It's all good info, but what really helps me is your tip about the fingers radiating from a central spot. Seeing them this way makes it easier to keep track of the masses and it makes the hand look more convincing.
i think the fact that you teach drawing hands as 3d objects, in perspective, is the biggest reason this video kicks every other hand tutorial's ass (aside from how thorough and skilled of a teacher you appear to be.) They act like hands are 2d! I'm only 10 minutes into this video and i already want to say thank you and fantastic job.
I just noticed nobody disliked the vid (yet, must be Some zerobombers cruisin' around) Really, this vid actually does Really work. This is genious. We should have more art teachers without certificates. Not that I'd be taking art classes then..But still, people would actually get better than me in drawing.
The fact that the wrist doesn't meet in the middle of the hand seems like it should have been obvious now that I think about, thanks for pointing it out to me.
Genius work. Years of drawing and always faulting at hands has been cured by your easy and simple guide lines; listening to your voice and seeing your movements honestly did more then most art classes.
You sound very young too; chilling that you've got so much skill already. Keep it up.
Nice tutorial, it was really interesting, but... seriously, you try to do the position of min 27:00, IT'S IMPOSIBLE arrrgh jaja, you know that the articulations have their limitations no? xD
Wow. What I'd give to have Sycra as my Art teacher.
This tutorial basically changed the way I looked at drawing hands. It was the single-most difficult thing I tried to draw. This showed me the right way to do it, and it isn't even that complicated! I've seen so many other tutorials that say completely different things and they seem to be steering me in a whole different direction. Like the whole curved fingers arch instead of the big bulky square. Thank you so much, you changed the way I draw.
Nice tut, especially the part for the foreshorten hands.
Does your graphic tablet have small scratches from drawing on it (I hear that scratching sound while you draw)? I've got one, and it got scratches after two days of using it... I think they do not influence the drawings themselves by making "breaks", but I'm not sure
Yah, I don't use much pressure at all, I also think the scratches are not real scratches but stuff of the pencil that's left on the pad because the pencil is soft... mehh, don't know, it still works, so...^^ It's also a cheap one, from ALDI :D
Your videos are always amazing to me. You truly are talented at what you do Sycra. Also, I don't know if you've done these kind of videos before, but it's cool to hear you do a commentary!
Your pinkies are way to long and you make mistakes qutie often since you seem to stress through this whole video but I learnt much and it helps, thanks!
Amazing !Thank you! On behalf of every one from the bottom of our hearts we Thank You for taking your time to make this video to help everyone who are interested about drawing or need help to improve 'em.We are truly truly appreciate what you did for us!Thank You my friend!
Thank you sooo much for taking the time to make such an enlightening video! Plus, you sounded quite tired, so I think you deserve an extra round of applause!~ <3
THANK YOU I LOVE YOU SO MUCH I HAVE THE HARDEST TIME DRAWING HANDS AND I END UP HAVING TO HIDE THEM AND IT LOOKS REALLY STUPID!! BTW IM TYPING IN CAPS CUZ IM HAPPY! :D :D :D
This is incredible! i love the new voice thing, it certainly gives a lot! It would be so nice if you made a series in this style, like How to Draw the Feet, Torso Head, whatever. xD

Omskanielar 1 year ago 2
@Omskanielar Sounds just like the texture of the tablet, not scratches or rivets. He does seem to use it frequently, though.
xXBatmanFreakXx 1 year ago
@xXBatmanFreakXx Yes and if your going to draw on a computer its better to use a tablet. Thus he always uses one.

@Shydrow Yup! I have a cheaper one, but I'm just in my teens so I don't need anything bigger yet.

@Omskanielar you might wanna put less pressure on your tablet if your making scratches. Marks don't effect it at all.
