  • Hey man i have a question. I recently just got my grandma's old car (2003 sentra) and it is a silver color, no rust or dents. I dont want to do air brush or anything because i do not have a compresser. I dont know what to exactly to do, but i want to color it all black. What would you do in this situation? Thanks

  • @NubbyBuster Check out my 4 minute video on how to do a rustoleum roller paint job for $50. Painting your car with a roller is very easy and it comes out looking awsome!

  • Great job man. It looks great

  • I painted my car over 2 years ago using this method and it looks amazing!

  • hey im almost done sanding my car... and ive spent like a week trying 2 sand it slowly and puddy areas needed and im preatty much done sanding and getting ready 2 primer with rustoleum, after i do that i buy the regular black? or gloss black? or high gloss black rustoleum i want a really glossy finish. what would i need so its a good nice finish not just 2 or 3 layers of paint?

    if my question makes sense

  • @1blooddeath If you're ready to paint, I'd paint 4 coats of 75% Gloss Black Rustoleum Oil Based Enamel and 25% mineral spirits (paint thinner). People may say this is to thick, but it'll lay down a lot easier, orange peel will be minimal and it will look great when done. Make SURE to wait at least 10 - 12 hours between coats.

  • looks pretty good, did it keep the shine?

  • @madmax92gsx Still shined the day I sold the car. Held up even better than expected!

  • i have tan/gold 2000 intrepid and will do this in about a week or so. just wanted to make sure i had the details down...wash it, wet it, sand it, buff it, add black primer, sand it, mix rustolium/mineral spirits, first coat, sand it, second coat, and so on? this might be totally wrong order or way to do it which is why i need u to correct it.

  • pretty blk

  • I did it to my 1996 Camaro RS and it held up pretty good but I've got a million scratches so ill be going over it again this weekend.

  • That's the most shity paint job I have ever seen u could have atleast used black primer in a fuckin spray paint can cheap ass

  • @MsCookie1129 lets see you do better oh wait i cant because the only 2 vids I see you have is of a dog chasing a flash light

  • @MsCookie1129 First off, it's a single stage, so there's no need for primer, like the OP said. Second, this is only the first coat, read the damn description.

  • rustoleum paint like from walmart paint?

  • @twiztid1fiddy Yup, you can get the rustoleum from Walmart. Rustoleum oil based enamel

  • Do you need a100% minrarl spirit ?

  • i can still see the holes! lol nice paint job but......even some duct tape would have worked!! lol

    VT247

  • @Vacationtime247 what kind of sandwich?

  • I was liking what I seen until you showed a obama biden poster. Frick and Frack liars as we like to call those two. Most just call them the worst two politiicans ever. Other than that the vid is ok.

  • What can I say. I had hope. But they've let me down and lost my vote. What 'change' have they accomplished? Nothing good.

  • Got 2 cars in the garage. One is a 1978 Ford Pinto all original with 29,500 miles. The other is a 1983 Mazda RX7 with 89,000 miles on it and a custom convertible job.

  • @alexkills4fun

Obama can't fix anything because he is an ignorant socialist, and don't blame the work of Clinton on Bush like every other moron who endorses him.

  • any problems with streaking or chipping or anything?

  • Nope. The Rustoleum is a better paint than was on there from the factory. No streaking cause I rolled over it with a relatively thick coat of rustoleum.

    VT247

  • Hey, so did you apply a clear coat at all? Im planning on painting my 79 mustang like this, im just curious if the paint chipped at all or anything

  • @olecow3 Nope, no clear coat. It's just good old rustoleum mixed with mineral spirits. No Chips, no fade. Rustoleum is a single stage, no need for a primer either.

    VT247

  • lol nice, it doesn't look bad at all maybe it was because it was wet but, looks nice lmfao

  • A poor mans fix it has me laughing yet its so awesome im mad i didnt think of that i love poor man ways for every thing its a way of life hats to you!! PS please make more videos for me to watch lol

  • @Neverthebroken1 What can I say? I'm a cheap bastard, lol.

    VT247

  • I am doing the same paint job on my car and I was wanting to know what products/brands you used to polish the car and I protect the paint? Also in what order? like polished the paint first then applied the product to protect the paint or vice versa?

  • @andyroo89 Most any type of commercial wax works. I like to use wax that doesn't leave a lot of residue. Meguiar's polish is probably the best. But if your looking for a really nice paint job then you're best bet is to wet sand, buff and polish. If going this route, use Nortons Liquid Ice.

  • i thought you werent supposed to use oil based paints on cars?

  • Rustoleum is an enamel. Basically old school paint similar to what was used on cars years ago.

    VT247

  • Great Job man,

i love it when i make something messy into a masterpiece and your getting there!

    keep it going

  • I know you positioned the camera at the OSAMA BIDEN poster on purpose! LOL

  • Noticed that after I made the video...lol! I'm still waiting on 'CHANGE'. Comon' Obama, let's see it!

    VT247

  • for $50, that actually looks pretty good. have you ever thought about claying, polishing, and waxing the red portion? (or maybe just wax it) i think it would really bring out the red since it looks a little faded/cloudy in some areas judging by the video. but anyways, i think it looks great.

  • Thanks! For the faded paint, go over it with 1500 grit and knock down the edges. Do the same thing as the lower section but with the top, use clear enamel / laquer.

    VT247

  • nice video, i'm going to be painting my conversion van today with this method. I'll be putting a vid up as well hopefully!

  • Hope your van comes out good! It's not that hard, just wear old clothes. Post a Video Response up top.
