We need another Eugene Debbs! We need the implication of real socialist policies in the United States. Corporate media gives unfair viewing time to other parties so the Socialist Party is non-existent in the media. We need justice and equality to the people who struggle under our Capitalist system. The U.S should stop relying so much on the market to determine the welfare of workers.

@wildboy789789 Convention, not primary. We'll nominate presidential candidates in late 2011, and so far Alexander is the only declared candidate. That said, some folks are pulling for either Cindy Sheehan or Dan La Botz. Personally, I'm still undecided.

Socialism is for democracy in the workplace. Major corporations will no longer be run by a CEO who makes 500 times the average worker and has a $250 million severance package (Exxon).

They will be run by the workers who actually MAKE the product that makes a profit. But in the mean time socialism advocates workers will organize unions to stand up against the greed of capitalists.

And how do taxes prevent people from succeeding? State colleges have trained millions of Americans.

The Peace & Freedom party is a socialist party, not communist. Socialists have a great record of governing. There have been over 1200 elected officials in the United States and there is one currently in the House of Reps. I'm assuming if you're against felons that you aren't a member of the Democratic or Republican parties.

The U.S. has used socialist ideas: welfare, subsidies in farming, public ed. Scandinavia has socialist democracies and considered to have the fairest economies. I think you are confusing socialism for made-fascist communism wh/ existed in Stalinized Russia.

@zzsharka What about them? Germany has the largest economy of all European countries. It is taking the brunt of the European Union bail outs. That is probably why they would be having troubles as well as a bad economical situation worldwide. Italy has had a 200% debt in proportion to their GDP for years. Greece is in their hole because statism coupled with corporate dominance. Basically the same with Spain and to a lesser extent, Italy. Germany has more of a social justice aspect, and its economy is strong still, though the CDU is making some pushes that are unnecessary.
