Alexander is on the ballot in many states, vote for him. Write him in if you are in a state with restrictive ballot access such as i am. It is a very small thing to do and easy but it will send a message.
We need another Eugene Debbs! We need the implication of real socialist policies in the United States. Corporate media gives unfair viewing time to other parties so the Socialist Party is non-existent in the media. We need justice and equality to the people who struggle under our Capitalist system. The U.S should stop relying so much on the market to determine the welfare of workers.
@testing88534 It doesn't rely on the market to determine the welfare of its workers: it relies on a state-propped debt-based, corporate welfare oligopoly to determine their fate.
Stewart Alexander is now the candidate of the Socialist Party USA for Vice President, and is trying to get the Moore/Alexander campaign on the PFP ballot.
@wildboy789789 Convention, not primary. We'll nominate presidential candidates in late 2011, and so far Alexander is the only declared candidate. That said, some folks are pulling for either Cindy Sheehan or Dan La Botz. Personally, I'm still undecided.
Socialism is for democracy in the workplace. Major corporations will no longer be run by a CEO who makes 500 times the average worker and has a $250 million severance package (Exxon).
They will be run by the workers who actually MAKE the product that makes a profit. But in the mean time socialism advocates workers will organize unions to stand up against the greed of capitalists.
And how do taxes prevent people from succeeding? State colleges have trained millions of Americans.
The Peace & Freedom party is a socialist party, not communist. Socialists have a great record of governing. There have been over 1200 elected officials in the United States and there is one currently in the House of Reps. I'm assuming if you're against felons that you aren't a member of the Democratic or Republican parties.
@theultimaterockr A real American would run for the Socialist Party because most of us Americans work and bust our ass just to get by and put food on the table, and Socialists are wanting to create a better lifestyle for the American Workers. Republicans and Democrats don't give a shit if you are without a home or job, they only care about the money they are raking in off of your home being foreclosed. A Socialist like this man wants to make the lives of our youth and our workers better.
@ProAmericanCommies If you really want to live this way you should pack up your things and leave the country and move to a Socialist country. On paper Socialism seems like a good idea but in practice it has never helped anyone
@ProAmericanCommies If you actually worked hard and managed your money right you'd be rich and wouldn't need others to wipe your little bottoms for you. Capitalism provides opportunity for those who will take it. Work hard and you'll get far; just like the people you want to take money from did
@theultimaterockr If you're going to sit there and tell me Capitalism is a better system than Socialism, I've got no reason to argue with you because you're just proving to me that you don't have sense. Capitalism is evil that ruins the lives of the ones who fell through the cracks, the ones who work day and night to raise a child, the ones who have resulted to Government Funding just to get by, the ones who won't get hired because Capitalism is fucking them over. That isn't right.
@ProAmericanCommies In short, you are wrong. I have been poor and I worked my butt off to get where I am and because I live in a Capitalist society. I'm going to keep working hard and become one of those millionaire you hate so much
I can tell you're an obviously very intelligent person and I'm sure you know how 3rd parties have to start off. Over 43,000 Californians agreed with his views and voted for him.
@LordGilgamesh01 im a libertarian, so no i was not referring to that. what i meant is that anyone who is a socialist is not the brightest. it does not work, and large governmental causes more problems than it fixes.
@toSTONEiGO There has not been any libertarian leaders at all. So, how in the hell, when you have no clue if libertarianism actually works beyond paper, can you say that people are dumb when they are socialist. Socialism has worked in Europe. The U.S. has used socialist ideas: welfare, subsidies in farming, public ed. Scandinavia has socialist democracies and considered to have the fairest economies. I think you are confusing socialism for made-fascist communism wh/ existed in Stalinized Russia.
@zzsharka What about them? Germany has the largest economy of all European countries. It is taking the brunt of the European Union bail outs. That is probably why they would be having troubles as well as a bad economical situation worldwide. Italy has had a 200% debt in proportion to their GDP for years. It has nothing to do with socialized anything. Are you agreeing with me? I'm not sure since you are a different replier to my comment than stoneigo.
Greece is in their hole because statism coupled with corporate dominance. Basically the same with Spain and to a lesser extent, Italy. Germany has more of a social justice aspect, and its economy is strong still, though the CDU is making some pushes that are unnecessary.
Your logic of "Just vote for what everyone else is voting for, because its popular" is what has allowed our pants-on-head two-party system to flourish for so long.
Every four years we get a false dichotomy between two parties filled with lobbyists and bogged down by corporate interests.
And you think that's good because it's popular?
If only you could see how much your attitude has damaged the history of the human species.
