Jesus! O.o Listening is so disconcerting when you battle Red. It clearly defines how fucked the player is. There's so much at stake here. You have come to a mountain out in the middle of nowhere where Red, upon years and years of training, has silently been preparing for the day when someone would one day take the title as most powerful trainer in the world. And without saying a word, he just instantly challenges you like a badass! Holy christ, the final battle music from Red/Blue has been beat!

one thing i hated about GS compared to RB

Elite 4 in GS were all level 40-50, in RB, they were level 50-70

it was way to difficult to level passed 60 in GS, Red was the only guy with high level pokemon

i remember trying to kill Snorlax FOREVER because he kept using Rest and my guys were at most level 50

eventually killed him with Aeroblast criticals

Red is from the Manga, Ash is not red but based of him for the Anime, complete different personalities, but you cant have someone being silent as the main character of a Anime, it just wont be as entertaining. In theory Red is in the pokemon games not Ash, therefore the games are based from the Manga. Red owns.

@emeraldthechao174 lance the second time around isn't eazy. first time is just like the original game. Red is AN UNFAIL ASS. It hails throughout the whole fight, the pokemon are higher lvl and rigged stats from last time, and his Espeon is replaced with a Lapras!

Red is not Ash! Red was made before Ash was, Ash is in the anime while Red is in the manga, Red defeated all of team rocket, ash only makes jesse and james look bad. Red caught Mewtwo and Deoxys, Ash has not. So basically, Ash is not even close when it comes to Red, even though the creators of the show make ash VERY similar to red, he still isn't

The anime came first! It was made in April of '97, while the manga was made shortly after, AUGUST of '97! So, in a sense, Red was based off of Ash/ the GB games' main character!! I agree with you though, :| Ash has been Blessed with Suck up until now. Hopefully things change around in Best Wishes.

The first couple of games, Red and Green, were released in Japan on Feb. 27, 1996, with Blue version on Oct. 15, 1996. The first generation of the Pokemon anime was directed by Masamitsu Hidaka as of 1997-2005...so what does this say? I'd suggest you get your facts straight. Thank you and good night. :3

PS: Ash is based LOOSELY on Red for the anime.
