  • I can feel the pain in that guy, honestly. Almost like my chest hurts watching it.

  • Such a fine guy, John. That guy must have never forgotten that day. What a trip that must have been...

  • If there was ever a video to show the modern day masses. The utterly talentless, the overtly worthless hairspray demigods & the idiotic people that follow them. This is it...this is the way we should be treating each other. Honestly, with humility & with love. These are the things that matter, not stardom.

  • that was a very kind thing to do john that kid looked confused anyone else would of turned him away you took him in your home fed him and gave him a hot drink were all human we all need a hug and human compassion if we cant help each other the human race will suffer a true compassionate caring human we all need to learn from john im proud to say us scousers are very kind and warm hearted and would help anyone and it does'nt matter how powerful rich and famous were still human

  • I think thats kind of lame how John was sort of an asshole to that guy. I am not saying he was a total asshole b/c he obviously had a decent world view and this tripped out hippy was caught up on some small insignificant stuff but thats TO HIM (John that its small). I dig busting the guys bubble A LITTLE but to say pretty much I don't give a fuck if it holds significance towards your life and I didn't even sing that part, I mean he could have been a little nicer. This shit meant something to him

  • One thing that never goes out of style is crazy people stalking celebrities.

  • @Flipper79able

He wasn't crazy. He was touched by his lyrics and thought they were written specifically for him. Drugs can make you think some strange things but that doesn't make you crazy.

  • John wanted to be a rock messiah to a giant audience and it attracted weirdos. Big surprise.

  • "Y'know I had a good shit today..." Classic John!

  • I took a homeless man out for breakfast one day last month. It was very interesting to talk to the guy.

  • Comment removed

  • There's a clip on you tube where John, at the dinner table says 'I dunno, A Bucket Of Eggs And A Bag Of Soup' to the tramp - talking about mumbo jumbo lyrics. The look on the tramps face is priceless. Search it.

  • The vagrant guy is actually Derek Trubshaw. He ended up playing bass for They Suggested Oranges.

  • @McCartneyOnStilts He actually played drums for They Suggested Oranges dude.

  • I invited a homeless guy in to my home for a sandwich. Beat the shit out of me and stole my tv.

  • "How could I be thinking of you, man?" Lol.

  • The guy obvously had an eggy residue in the pant and John just wanted to clean him up a little. Feed him etc.

  • Shame that his lack of physical security was to cost him his life 9 years later in new york. Having good intentions and being peaceful tends to make people think that purity makes them immune from physical attack. How tragically wrong that can turn out to be. R.I.P john

  • OMG! "I had a good shit today" lol John! The disappoitntment in that poor kids face though when he says "I was thinking about me or at best Yoko"....I dont care if that kid was crazy I RELATE TO HIM! I probably would have been living in Johns tree thinkin the songs were about me!

  • @ckotcher1 Yeah ,he looked realy hungry...(not) had a nice suntan too.C'mon we all have a Jesus streak, but you just can't take every hippie psycho into your kitchen. For Chrissakes,we just had the Manson murders.LSD casualties where running rife, especialy in the good old U.S.of A.Old John was brainwashed by 'free'spirited miss Ono,who lived with her head in the clouds.(security is for squares)

  • @ckotcher1 SHIFT not shit.

  • oh, john's just a great soul! merry christmas everyone!

  • Kurt Covain my asshole

  • Warm heart

  • do you remember these beatle burn outs i hope it was worth it white boy

  • he want to introduce GRUNGE music

  • you simply stand infront of someone as they look puzzled as to why your blocking there path. then you apologize and learn never to do that again. because you get nothing out of it.

  • I love it when I pass these "I'm not gay" tests. All the comments about this hippie being "hot" and I didn't notice. Always a relief :D

  • @VikefanTony Congratulations I guess? No one cares about your sexual orientation.

  • @tmlkrs You do, I can tell.

  • John was a great guy. He was overly humble about his lyrics -- they DID have a lot of meaning to him -- only because so many psychopaths would constantly corner him demanding him for "the answer". He had to somehow convince them that he was just a regular guy and they should stop idolizing him, so he took on that self-deprecation, calling various songs nonsense, calling songs terrible, saying most of it was rubbish. He didn't really believe that -- he knew he was an unparalleled genius.

  • bet that hippies perception of john came crashing down. he wasnt all that.

  • jesus asking jesus about his lyrics = )

  • What is this from?

  • @Petertunes the 'Imagine' movie

  • @Petertunes The "Imagine" movie.

  • @Petertunes I think from the film Imagine. 1971.

  • Anyone ever find out who that guy was?

  • what is this from???

  • " a teacher asked what do you want to be later in life, i said happy, she said i dont think you understand the question i said i dont think you understand life" - j lennon

  • Gave me goosebumps!

  • Does anyone know what the name of the hippie was or what happened to him afterward? I'm kinda interested in that guy's story.

  • Are you hungry?...love you always John

  • @tyxxzy John was a very simple and caring man...We are responsible for what we believe. I love this story.

  • john was a very simple man

    we miss you!!!!

  • This show's how kind John Lennon really was

  • that hippie is HOT

  • Just as well he didn't ask him about revolution number 9, the tramp would have passed out

  • Aww I got a warm fuzzy feeling right now

  • John Lenon admits his hipocracy here in his own words. It sounded good and we, the fans, made up the meanings to the songs not the other way around. So who really are the geniouses to the Beatles music anyway?

  • what a great video

  • paul wrote that one. hahahahaha

  • Maybe the hippy was some enlightened individual checking up on Johns true nature. How many of us would invite a strange stranger into hour home for tea and crumpets? I may be a dreamer, but the world really needs more people thinking like John did!

  • I am in love with this hobo hippie

  • John was such a kind person.

  • man that dude is so handsome....he seemed so lost though, like so disapointed that the songs didnt hold the same meaning for John as they did for him.

  • Lennon was a republican. That's nice to hear.

  • John Lennon was so caring.

  • 1:50 What moved me was when Mr.Lennon said: Are you hungry?.......hmm? and the Mr Hippie Guy says: ...........yes. Then they both go in the manson and eat chocolate mike and bread. Then the music starts..

  • Is this what that American Dad episode was based off of?

  • All hail the intentional fallacy.

  • What would anyone do if they went back in time to meet John Lennon? I would travel to like 1975 and say "John, I traveled 40 years from the future to meet ya." And he'd be like 'Any traffic on the way?' And I'd say 'I just made it past rush hour.' And if he asked what happens to him, I'd be like. 'Love to, man, but can't change the future, reprecussion and all the shit, you know, Doctor Who shit?' And he'd nod and we'd probably play some songs and maybe a little weed, but I'd probably just watch

  • @ZomgRuler I was with ya til the end. I would have handed John a bulletproof vest with instructions 'To be worn December 8th 1980'......'

  • @eartant

I would want him alive to this day too, but the ironic thing is he might not be important to us alive as he is dead. It's mean to say, but I'm sure he'd be a respected musician in the world, but his symbolism would lack meaning.

  • @ZomgRuler I was thinking that would be a cool concept for Back To The Future 4. Marty McFly and Doc Brown take a time machine thru time and save their heroes. JFK, Lennon, Tupac....okay, maybe not Tupac.

  • @eartant

Yeah, Tupac's a little before their time =p. MLK Jr. and RFK maybe?

  • @ZomgRuler I'd love to have been around The Beatles in 66/67 after they quit touring around the time they made Revolver and Sgt Peppers. To watch them at work. But I don't know if I'd want to meet them to speak to. I'm a bit reserved.

  • o sea escribía puras weás y era xD

  • Wow, John Lennon is so cool. Just to take that guy and speak to him, man to man instead of calling the security guard

  • @dabeshu that is mind blowing in a way. I'm surprised everyone is not commenting on that. I'm going to check the second and third pages and scan through for that.. we are the only ones on this page.

  • @highon74 I knew he was a hippie and all, but gosh I am touched by how kind and easygoing he is. Probably was cool as hell

  • @dabeshu John Lennon was the shit. He was much deeper than just a 'hippie'. I know you don't mean that in a bad way.. but I'm just saying its not that easy to pigeon hole some one like that. That guy was smart as hell, creative, and original. not to mention deep.

  • @highon74 He was still a hippy :p

  • Don't confuse yourselves. Everything John did had meaning to it, even what it was at best nonsensical, he still did it on purpose. This, in my mind, solidifies John Lennon as one of the greatest songwriters of all time. He doesn't try to make himself any better or any worse than this man who was sleeping in his garden.

  • Look at the tension in Lennon's body language - keeping distance, arms crossed, that's one insecure dude there...

  • @rattussapiens thats truth but i dont know if the insecure its about the other guy, or if he as he said, they are all words thats fits toghether and say something, that would make lennon meaning less

  • @rattussapiens lol. you can't be serious

  • my god..... john... didnt mean anything in his songs..... my life is almost over

  • Strange reaction, i was thinking he was all love and peace. At least he invites him to eat xD

  • @Daniazco what did you want him to do.. massage the guys balls and give him a back-rub?

  • @highon74 You're right, you can not judge a singer by his works.

  • @Daniazco How was his reaction a strange reaction? What is strange to you is that he is not acting according to what you expect him to. That was not strange at all.. he generally likes human beings (one would assume), he's compassionate at times.. the fucking guy is hungry.. Deep people do 'weird shit' to masses

  • he reminds me of my cocaine

  • @abouthysteria It must be from Gimme some truth

  • It's from the documentary Imagine, I believe.

    Loved that one too.

  • Is he dipping his bread in his coffee or water? Weird

  • @idyllwildtech Tea. It's an english thing.

  • @holahahaful But the guy is clearly American, judging by his accent.

  • @phitdemon But hes clearly in England, judging that he is outside John Lennon's house.

  • @holahahaful Yes, but just because he's in England doesn't necessarily mean he would dunk his toast in his tea. I'm merely pointing out that it's not "an english thing" to do this, as the above poster suggested.

  • @holahahaful Mexican people dip sweet bread in coffee. It's delicious.

  • @idyllwildtech Could be a mug of soup :)

  • Does anyone know if this from a documentary?

  • @shockwavexb360

Yes it is a documentary, it should be mentioned on the description but is not.

    Imagine: John Lennon (1988)

  • Awesome

  • that hippy has a bad ass jacket..

  • @kmurfyy ever since watching this a year ago, I've been trying to track down a jacket that is similar and just as cool - it's not happening.

  • And so began the creation of Kurt Cobain...

  • @freakydude92 this has got to be the funniest comment I've ever read.

  • @freakydude92 So, it is Kurt?

  • dude john lennon is legit..wish i could had dinner with a genius

  • Such a genuine and reasonable response on John's part... of course the music he wrote was from his own perspective, and about himself, the band, or Yoko if it was about anyone. What makes some music relatable isn't that it was written with a specific person or people in mind, it's that it can be beautiful, interesting, and most of all very human. We can hear it our own ways and each take our own message away from it. To me that makes the music more meaningful, not less.

  • @BlasterTon well that's the reason he also got kill for been to nice with strangers

  • Comment removed

  • That's the problem EVERYBODY has with Pop music these days. It's not about you, a pop song is literally musical Mad Libs. It's meant to appeal to a very general demographic.

  • Were he around today, this drug addled hippie would probably be modeling, rather than hanging around in some celebrity's garden.

  • eating with john lennon would be amazing

  • That dude's hot.

  • john lennon, asking if he's hungry and inviting him in. a true scouser. r.i.p

  • @Whatlad83 Riiiiight. The most common scouser stereotype is the extreme hospitality...

  • Comment removed

  • Dreams crushed.

  • At 2:07 the look in the homeless guy's eyes says it all: Lennon is just another human being just like me.

  • So glad I speak Spanish. I love John, so nice for inviting him in.

  • this guy probably came off his trip and was like..

    "i met yoko ono?!"

  • Killed by the government for asking the wrong questions.

  • @SirAlfredSourcock

Or the right ones, depending on how you see it.

  • That guy looks like Kurt Cobain

  • @SnoozeIRTL ya...looks like

  • Stupid sexy hobos...

  • Well i had a good shit this morning,,,

    Lol :D

  • As if I needed another reason to love this man.

  • LENNON <3

  • Comment removed

  • "Tittenhurst"

    Titten = boobs in German.

  • Wow, you can see the bubble ... POP!!!

  • shit man. shit

  • I think this is what most artists would say when they talk about their music. People extrapolate way more from music lyrics than what is actually there.

  • I thought he was kurt cobain lol

  • what is a john lennon

  • That hobo is pretty hot.

  • Well that's totally not the hippie pop-culture image I've been raised up on ...that dude looks normal. DANG IT. Now I have to rethink my mental images all over again.

  • @ssal1122 Please, for the love of all things good, be a troll.

  • @ssal1122 Please tell me you're not serious.

  • @Koru It's not like everyone is born with the magical knowledge of the name of a member of some band from the 60's. Contrary to popular belief, the names of each Beatle really isn't common knowledge.

That said, I'd suggest ssal1122 just uses Google if he's serious, or try harder if he really is trolling.

  • @FASChrisCaze I suppose this question bothers me most because it means I'm getting old. :/

  • What a legend.

  • The amazing thing is that the person knew that Lennon had a connection to him, and when all is said in done.. he did. He had dinner with him and a discussion with him and connected with him. It all fits.

  • Skumbag Lennon: Says give him something to eat: Gives him a slice of bread and water

  • @gish01 looks like toast and soup actually

  • I don't see what the problem is. John Lennon just said that he isn't singing to a specific person really when writing or singing his songs. The Hippie was disappointed yes but then John feeds this man at his own dinner table, which, lets be honest, would never happen with today's musicians.

  • @BlasterTon It wouldn't have happened with most musicians those days, either, and I'm sure there are one or two nowadays who would do it. It's not about the era, it's about the man.

  • @BlasterTon He probably only fed the hippie because the cameras were rolling.

  • @chaereth I'm not sure Lennon was the type to ingratiate himself with anyone - he did things his own way.

  • This makes me sad, John Lennon comes off as an arrogant man who doesn't put much into to his lyrics. I hope this if just a facade which he puts on for the camera and he wasn't like this younger. I guess sometimes we paint an image of someone perfect, then when you see them in a realistic context your painting becomes a little distorted...

  • @Jamaalinnit I liked the dude but then I kinda felt sad when he told once that he loved his child with yoko more then his son Julian because it was planned that they would have it and Julian was a surprise. That's sad to say about your kid.

  • @Jamaalinnit -

    I really don't see how it's arrogant.

  • @soaper4 He is being a bit arrogant... I don't know how you can't see that.

  • oh my god. What a beautiful man. Yoko, you're a lucky woman to have been with him. Well deserved too, I think.

  • I could've used English subtitles for parts of this.

  • @uohaloran Translate them from Spanish to English :P. I didn't had any problem

  • @uohaloran Luckily they were in my language :P

  • @uohaloran No no, Lennon really did say he had a good shit today.

  • @uohaloran Click CC, then transcribe audio. Not accurate, but hilarious.

  • lennon was such a fucking douchebag and hypocrite

  • @lolwut6045 how? if anything he's the anti-thesis of that

  • The Beatles - In My Life

  • and everyone eating some milk and tea!

  • Lennon is a legend.

  • are ya houngray? yeah.

  • you member when, you remember when you said the...love you take is equal to the love you make....was that true? That was awesome.

  • @jas16899 fuck you then jizzqueen no one needs to hear to alternate stories of what you would do if you were a rich scumbag, dont give a fuck...

  • @jas16899 Well then, you're a douchebag.
