between BOTH typhoon and syclone models and all the years combined, there were only 6,692 produced. so yeah id say thats pretty damn rare even compared to the old buick gn, grand national and turbo buick regals. between the years those were made they totalled a lot more.

And speaking of rarity, since I learned of these beasts I have only seen 1 Syclone on the back of a truck, and there is a Typhoon driving around my hood, though in such a terrible condition some Beaner bought it as a beater and ... it i so sad. I don't think he knows what he even has! :(

Syclones and Typhoons are still king of the hill. Every Lighning owners worst nightmare at an empty stoplight. Built Sy/Ty's on stock bottom ends are capable of 9 second quarter miles, and the 60 foot times they lay down are just magical. Not to mention, I think they're still the coolest looking trucks made.

not a chance in hell a 97 dakota runs even close to 14 stock. that 5.2 is a good motor, but not that good. they have about 220 hp at the crank, and i'm guessing they probably run 17 or 18 in the 1/4. stock sy's run low 13's stock.

@The2010camaro The Ram SRT-10 is not even a REAL sport truck. It is just a Ram that Dodge swapped their Viper engine into. These Typhoons are REAL sport trucks, as they were built ground up, motor and all, not just a transplant. Also the technology in these motors is 12 years old and only .4 seconds slower in 0-60 and about 1.6 seconds in the 1/2 mile, and that is with half the power of the Ram SRT.

@nickrulez809765 actually the syclone was not the fastest... its the lightning. the syclone is the quickest but top speed is less then the lightning due to the comp in the syclone. thats the only reason the lightning is the fastest truck... top speed. and yes i think it should go to the syclone too but anyway it is what it is
