I have a problem with my whirlpool thin washer dryer combination unit. The washer works fine and the dryer spins it is blowing air but the dryer doesnt
blow hot air it it just blowing cold air with no heat?
Everyone if the fuse is blown you will need to give your dryer a thoughrough cleaning take it apart i might try and post a video of how to do this let me know if that would be helpful.I am a appliance repair tech and do this all the time the person at the bottom of this blog is correct there is another problem it will need cleaned out and then the new fuse installed .The fuse blows to keep it from getting too hot that is called the thermal fuse ,so if it is getting too hot then there is blockage
On a gas dryer like shown in this nice video the white fuse kills the power to the gas assembly only. So the dryer will still operate, just won't heat. On an electric heat model this fuse would kill the dryer because it is wired into the door switch circuit. If the filter is blocked and the temp exceeds 350f then this puppy melts to prevent a fire.
Nice video. You did check for lint and junk in the filter housing and clean that up didn't you? Or else you would need to keep on replacing them fuses. LOL
mine cost 22.50 out the door at v&v appliance, thanks to all that show and share your knowledge, especially when money is tight, bieng cheap and being broke are 2 diferent things, when i was working i made money to pay the repair man so he could make money, and so forth,so rock on with these videos
@mxpassion17 Whatever dude, you're an idiot. A clothes dryer is one of the easiest appliances to fix. This simple fuse is super easy to replace, even for the most inexperienced homeowner, and it's an extremely cheap part that's readily available from any appliance parts store. The only thing not mentioned in this video is that this particular fuse blows because of a restricted vent. The vent was either clogged or kinked. The problem will need to be rectified or the fuse will just blow again.
@mxpassion17 actually your doing it wrong. the two fuses you checked first, you have to take one wire off, if not your going to get contunuity from the the wires. A false reading, get it right.
Wow, I don't know what model you have going there, and that note about eBay has to be considered stale after a week, and this is easily better in a tweet, but thanks for helping people gloss over the trivial (and save a boring service call for the repair technician.)
I was thinking to send away my dryer ,then We pray ,and ask for a miracle, because I don't have money yo buy a new one , so God responde thru you, the repair shop wasnot far from my home , and they have it in stock , you was rigth the thermal fuse was blown , so now we thanks to the Lord to lead us to you video. God Bless You.
mine has the same problem as yours dryer did.... where can i find that fuse u bought or sensor as someone said the white one located in the bottom that u said cost u 3 dollors ???????? Where do they sell those????
I am a GIRL and was able to do this EASILY!! thank you thank you thank you! I am more than happy to send you a little donation but don't know how to do it on paypal :(
I have been trying to read repair manual after repair manual only to find I'm lost by the diagrams and terminology. Then I found your video, did exactly what you did, and lo and behold my thermal fuse is shot. I'm so excited that took less than a couple of minutes and I found a bad fuse, whoo hoo I'm off to the hardware store. Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!
Hey dude, nice brief video, I also had problem with my Kenmore dryer and it has the same parts as Maytag. I also thought I had issues with my sensors but as it turned out my exhaust got clogged due to water condensation. It wasn't apparent since air was still coming out from the side vent of my house but apparently if there is not enough air flow your heating unit either gas or electric will shut sooner and it will not heat enough leaving clothes to dry much longer.
Thank you so much, you are awesome. I took my dryer apart , thought that I had tested everything. I missed the fuse. This video was very informative. Thanks again
Thanks man! I had the same problem! That part is a fuse that protects from overheating in the exhaust. The vent cover I put on recently wasn't the right kind and caused my problem. I will check your site on Ebay. Thanks again! You saved me some dough!
Wow...so simple...saved me a $129 trip charge + labor + parts. Probably a $200 savings. Thank you for being direct and not over explaining the repair...great job
those are sensors not fuses. maybe a tutorial video should wait untill you know what the parts are . misleading information could be dangerous and make trouble shooting very problematic. not to mention the parts supplier will be confused when you say you need a fuse and give him a sensor part number.theree are quite a fey trouble shooting tutes on here already maybe you should watch a few before you make one!
@winkdogg very true< would replacing all thermostats and thermal fuse fix my dryer, my son put wet shoes in the dryer and burning smell happend then no heat at all
@winkdogg Calm down Professor, im quite sure that you have a PHd in Eletrical Engineering, try and be more mature and respectful on your next response. I saw one of your videos, you have a lot of anger issuses, probably should get that checked out, but not here on you tube, starting with your childhood.......With a Phychiatrist.
Thanks s much! Going to chech out my daughters dryer.

@Umax12341 You should clean your vent that's what caused the fuse to blow in the first place.

footeze226 1 year ago
