He made it to simply put forth a scene of a man who tries to remember past memories (the book of rhymes), and the irony of the fact that he is unsatisfied with something that he, ulitmately, can't change (what he thought were good lyrics). If you don't like Nas as an artist, than that's okay... it's when you deny the fact that he has talent and skill that seems disrespectful.
