  • I wish you could sort mine out Doc

  • IM TALKING ABOUT THE WORST KIND UNIVERSALIS

  • @xBMD1 i thought you were referencing alopecia areata. unfortunately, universalis is not amenable to a transplant since 1) you have no donor hair and 2) grafts would not take anyway. i am sorry about that. i wish i could help.

  • i have alopecia will this work...?

  • @xBMD1 alopecia just means baldness so yes. unless you mean a specific type of alopecia like alopecia areata (won't work for that).

  • Does the procedure leave scaring on the scalp

  • @WayneDavisRocks no, because these are micro punches. :)

  • will the hair grow back if u cut it off?

  • @krabhole yes. it is just moving hair from one part of your head where you have a lot of it to another where you don't. it's like taking a flower from one pot and putting it in another pot. it will grow just in a different pot. :)

  • @samlammd ...i thought u took someone Else's hair and put it on yours. My next question was, do u have to go bald for u to get a hair transplant? Cuz what if i wanted indian hair, i wondered if it was possible to take an indian person and get that persons hair 2put on my scalp. Please answer :)

  • @krabhole unfortunately, you cannot. your body would reject it. you can only use your own hair. :)

  • @samlammd ..awww :( . One more question, wen u move the hair from one part of your head to put on another part, will the part you took it from grow back? :)

  • @krabhole no, but you are only removing less than a centimeter (less than half of an inch) that you close and will never miss. it is just so highly dense that I can redistribute effectively to a bald area to look like a ton more. that is why artistic and technical work is so important to leverage the number of grafts that you have and make it look like a ton more.

  • @samlammd that is so amazing! my family has a history of going bald, and where i am supposed 2go bald, the hair is of a different texture than the rest. Im just 17. Im looking into this now. How much would it cost to get that procedure done?

  • @krabhole if you are a gentleman and 17, i should not do your transplant nor should any ethical transplant surgeon to prevent a lifelong of misery. to understand why, type in "young men hair transplant safety" in the youtube search bar and my video should come up first. please watch it.

  • @samlammd thank u.It was very informatice but I was referring to doing it when all my hair finally drops out, i wud love to get the procedure done. That wudnt be for years from now but im still asking for the price. Hw much would it cost?

  • @krabhole the ballpark is 9 to 11k ish but prices change especially if you are a decade away. plus, if you are losing hair now, you really should consider propecia and rogaine. it works the best when you are younger and in the early phases of hair loss.

  • @samlammd My hair isnt falling as yet, the corners of my head like the places near the temple, and in the middle of my head, the hair feels rough and its thin. Its been like that for as long as i can remember. I'm thinking that is the hair that is going to fall out. I always thought of the creams and shampoo and what not, but i found the surgery. If it cant happen, can the shampoo help? and can i start using it now to prevent hairloss?

  • @krabhole shampoo really won't make a big difference to be honest with you.

  • @samlammd ok. So i'll justs wait till all falls out then ill get the procedure done. I hope worrying about that so early in life doesnt bring on the loss of my hair lol. Thank you doctor for your time. :)

  • @krabhole no, worrying about it won't lead to hair loss. best wishes.

  • What is also great is that Dr. Lam's voice is so positive and reassuring. Just what patients need :)

  • thank you !

  • This is truly amazing ! I enjoy all your videos. All imformative and very interesting!

  • wow, thanks so much! really appreciate the kind comments.

  • Are Those Hair Follicles Created?

  • created? not too sure what you mean. they are harvested from the back of the head.
