You are surprising with the poetry and melody of your postagens. I have been listening to all in the measure of the evaluated possible thing. That you always could postair and to share the wonders of the music
@kusfreak I really would appreciate the score of the Suite op. 6, written for DSCH's deceased father in 1922. Have you noticed the same ostinato motive, slightly altered, returning in the Viola Sonata op. 147 from 1975? Farewell words by Shostakovich were the Mondschein Sonata and the Father's Parting Motive. And I remember a part of this Father's Motive from the Eightth String Quartet. What DSCH wanted to convey in his final words? Goodbye, Mum & Dad? Did his mother play him the Mondschein?
It is unbelievable how much great music DSCH produced in such a short span of time and under so much stress! His brain was structured to construct great musical monuments block by block at a tremendously fast pace! If you get a chance listen to his first symphony with Leonard Bernstein conducting the Chicago Symphony Orchestra on DG. He was only 19 years old when he wrote the fist symphony. He changed the way symphonies would be written! So much like Beethoven when he wrote his third...
I love this, I love melancholy music! :) But was Shostakovich a sad man? :(
