  • yo tengo el 1998 esta jenial

  • I am a FORMER Pontiac GrandAm owner, Actually I owned two of them. ALWAYS something breaking OR broken, mine needed MULTIPLE towings, BOTH of them.

First was a 1994, second was a 2002. I thought the second one would be better than the first, dumbass that I am. IF YOU HAVE A PONTIAC GRANDAM AND YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR SANITY, GET da' HELL RID OF YOUR GRANDAM !! UNDERSTAND ?

  • @bluffer09 I sure do. I'm hoping I'll be able to trade my '05 Grand Am in for either a 2011 Scion TC or Honda Accord Coupe sometime before or after 2012.

  • Cool to see all the GAs, you should have shown better last generation GAs though. Only 1 GT and none with the chrome 5 spoke wheels, Stick my 02 in there its still in great shape!

  • I had one. Never spent more money on a car in my life. I basically threw every pay cheque to canadian tire on this baby. At least the seats were comfortable.

  • @ 2:21 That looks like an 1986 Buick Somerset.

  • when did it become front wheel drive?

  • @zonac14 1985 model. Was based on the GM's N-body platfom.

  • In 2003 it basically became the Grand Alero...

  • mane i useto ddnt like dis car but since i got me 1 i love it i love my grand am i had in 2009 and i dnt wanna change it

  • From what I recall the best handling ones were from the early 1990's. Coupe with optional FE3 suspension (instead of the typical floaty soft-crap) and LG0 (180HP version) H.O. Quad 4 is actually quicker to throw around than anything factory from the last generation. Particularly because it's a lighter weight car.

Best looks and driver geared ergonomics? Most reliable? I'd have to say they saved that for the last generation. Besides, that's part of why I have one now.

  • I had an 86, but it was just a basic model with 13" wheels and 2.5 L4 engine.. so it definitely wasn't the "hot car" that guy bragged about in the ad lol.

What I began to hate about it was the soft suspension. When I tried to corner aggressively the whole car leaned over to one side and the 185/80 tires folded like cardboard. It was an economy model tuned for grandma, not a teenager.

I miss it though, and it was totally reliable. I'm sure the more upscale models were better performers.

  • I used to own a 74 in black with a black interior i loved that car but part exed it for a bored out turdocharged 1100cc Suzuki GS1000 i still miss it.

  • these things lasted about 4 years tops if even that.

  • Awesome thanks very well done always loved the Grand Am . Alot of people called it just another American box till they tried to keep up to it

  • joshlichty, I don't know what your dad owned, but it wasn't an '81 Grand Am because such a car never existed.

  • joshlichty, I don't know what your dad owned, but it wasn't an '81 Grand Am because such a car never existed.

  • What a flattering pic for 2002!

  • I'll give you credit for trying, but there were several mistakes made in this timeline. The picture of the '86 is actually a Buick with Pontiac wheels. The '76 is a picture of a Le Mans. The Grand Am was not called Le Mans in 1981 through '84. The Le Mans was a separate line that was also produced along side the Grand Am until it (Grand Am) was discontinued in '81. Thanks for the effort though.

  • Srry to say this but I've never liked the Grand Am. But <3 the time line. My Cousin had a 1999 one that looked like the one @ 4:06. It wasn't a good car .

  • i'm sorry to burst your le Mans bubble, but it was a Grand Am in 80 and 81 for sure...my dad actually owned one...but i don't know about 82 83 or 84

  • Does anyone know where the name of Pontiac 6000, "Six-Thousands" come from?

  • The car you're showing for 1992 is a 96-98 Grand Am. Great video otherwise though.

  • The first generation was only produced from '73 to '75. There's no '76 Grand Am. The second generation was also only three years, '78 to '80. The LeMans and Grand LeMans after '80 were close but not Grand Ams.

  • 2002 will be my first car.awesome timeline

  • Nice timeline! Thanks for putting this together

  • thank you very much. twas awesome

  • this has got to be the worst car ever made by GM

  • @DanW900 Wrong. Although I'll admit it was a Pontiac. Ever hear of the Phoenix? (Essentially it's a rebadge of a Chevy Citation, but somehow it ended up made of fail. At least the Citations had much less in the way of electrical issues and powertrains that worked more reliably.) Of course you'll also have people make a good argument for the Cadillac Cimmaron.

  • I have a 95 SE Coupe with the 3.1 V6 with over 186K on it and still runs like brand new

  • GTP's are better. Good vid tho :D

  • i have 92nd years model. It's awesome ! powerfull!

  • At 2:53, that is not a '92... it's '96-'98 model. The '92-'95's are more squared.

  • 90-91 Se was really nice...but anyway it's still a fragile Gm mechanic in it.

  • i own a 2003 grand am

  • The 2003 picture you have is exactly how mine is with V6, tinted windows, bi-xenon projector HID , Clarion MP3, USB, Ipod connection and winter tires. It still runs like new. Nice video!

  • great vid

  • Technically the G6 stands for Grand Am sixth generation....

  • RIP Grand am da best cars ever..

  • 1997 pontiac grand am gt with a 5-speed was always my dream car for some reason... but i settled for a 1992 pontiac grand am gt 5-speed with the high out-put engine.... since my rebuild on it ive been blowin all those fancy lookin ceral box toy tuners outta the water...

  • Pretty good tribute. I enjoyed it thanx for posting. (good choice of music too) RIP Pontiac

  • pontiac is not dead

  • You know what I mean. I have a 66 Bonneville, a 63 Catalina, had a Trans Am etc. I love them ands its sad they wont build them anymore. I was hoping for a 2010 T/A when they said Pontiac was being phased out. You are right in that the Classics never die though!

  • i have a 2004 Grand am 4D and it is my favorite car ever

  • woow... the killers song!!!

  • I have a 2003 grand am SE with the Ecotec 4 cylinder engine. Its a rare five speed! I love the car, fun to drive, nice stereo and good styling. Wish it had more power tho..

  • the G8 has nothing to do with the Grand Am. if anything the G6 replaced the Grand Am and the G8 replaced the Grand Prix

  • i would kind of think it's the other way around cause the G8 is kind of smaller than the G6 and the G6 is long just like the Grand Prix was and the G8 is small and sporty like the Grand Am was. That's just me. What do you think?

  • G8 replaced the bonneville and the G6 is the technically the next generation grand am

  • @maybe2243 I think that's the case because there were 5 generations of the Grand Am name and 7 generations of the Grand Prix name.

  • Although it was discontinued in 2005, the new Pontiac G8 does resemble a Grand Am. New name perhaps ?

  • i went from a 1997 Ford Explorer then last week i bought a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am SE i absolutely love it!!! i still have my explorer. I can't get rid of that just yet.

  • Girlfriend has a 2000' SE and buddy of mine as an 02' GT with brand new exhaust. Love those cars. I don't have one simply cause I got a handmedown honda :(. Fuck honda.

  • A lot of errors i that timeline

If you aren't a GA enthusiast, you should have done more research or found an enthusiast to help you with it to be more accurate..

  • im geting the grand am gt 2005 its fastttttt but i cant find a manual 1 which sucks but its nice

  • Yeah give up on looking. None of the 6 cylinder Grand Ams come in a manual. You have to modify it yourself to get that. Good luck with your car I have a Black GT =]

  • yea same myns red though i wunt to put turbo in it and start drag raceing a stuff

  • I had an 85, 86, 88, and a 96. i loved them all and i want another one! No matter the year.

  • i see only prostitutes in the 90s versions... bonnivile was better!

  • the only good grand ams where the rear wheel drive ones. after 1980 all the other ones suck

  • there was no 1976 grand am..... it stop at 75 and started again in 78

  • o and 1978-1979 was grand am not trans am and the trans am existed alongside the grand am as the trans am firebird until 2002

not spam, my vid explains tht

  • 1976 was not a trans-am it it was a can-am

  • The Can-Am was 1977 only.

  • that 86 is actually a buick sommerset. it looks like someone put pontiac wheels on it but the telltale sign is the back side windows. they don't have the curve at the bottom on the buick like they do on the grand am.

  • Good catch, and you're right, that is a Somerset. It can be either an 85 thru 87 but you can also tell by the headlamps that it's clearly a Buick. Might even be a T-Type model.

  • i dont know what that guy below me say i have a 1988 2.5 grand am it a sweet car has never faled me

  • Very nice, but there was no 1976 Grand Am. You can forget about Grand Am's after 1980. No one cares about them, nor will there ever be any interest in those poorly made disposable cars.

  • nice ur time line was well put together but never did like the car

  • I was Never A big Fan either, but i try to cover all of the famous american cars

  • kool nice timeline tho

  • i have many other timelines on my page for cars like the camaro, mustang, monte carlo, thunderbird, impala, and many more check it out!

  • k will do

  • @12344bam me too until I got one 2003 V6..great car!

  • Super timeline, Ryan.

    Danke schoen.
