love this song, one of my favorite parts of the movie.so much of the film was so cool & seemed like an instant classic when u saw it,from the characters,to the story, down to the music used in it.this film had 90's generation x wrttien all over it,which i couldn't help but to like.
This movie has a grunge flavor...z problem is that it seems too pop and forced to be true grunge.
I'm 100% sure the members of Pearl Jam-Stone Temple Pilots-Nirvana-Soundgarden-Alice In Chains-RedHot-Smashing Pumpkins etc...don't like much this movie
This Film was made at the same time as the alt rock grunge was dyin' ...when you look at the movie you understand why... by 1994 alternative rock parts were in danger of bein seriously hijacked by mainstream money maker labels...u can smell it here
Man this movie basically just says everything that I wanted to be in my childhood. :D I totally was forced to watch this movie almost everyday cause it was my sister's favorite. I'm glad about that.
a few years ago two parents went out to dinner.a few hours later, the babysitter was calling to see if she could cover up the clown statue in the kid's room, the father said"Get the kids out of the house,we'll call the police we don't have a clown statue"."the clown statue" was actually a killer that escaped from jail.if you don't post this on 10 videos tonight the clown will be in your bed at 3:00 am with a chainsaw in his hand. sorry don't want this to happen to me
what's funny is i have never watched this film even ,though i was standing not 100 feet from when this scene was being filmed years ago on a November night the only reason i was looking for this scene because a friend of mine was in this movie .
@getlikemebitches1 Haha, this is funny to me. Why? Because the biggest Glee fan I know, totally has this movie as one of her favorites ever. Keep on making me giggle. :)
i prefferd the cute is what we aim for cover yh i get that you probably think i'm some "loser that dosnt have taste" but everyone has there own oppinion and this is mine so yh just put up with it theres nothing wrong with this band but its for the kids and the adults who are into the 80's and the 90's but those who arent can listen to whatever they want...
This is actually a bad movie from a writing standpoint. The characters are pretty one-dimensional and the plot's predictable. With that said, this movie has a lot of heart and will always be one of those nostalgic 90s pieces. Plus, Lucas has some of the best one-liners ever. Who can argue with such classics as "Always mess with their minds," "In the immortal words of the doors, the time to hesitate is through," and "In this life, there are nothing but possibilities"?
God this movie fucking sucks so bad. The one movie that made the 90's look like it was full of trendy retards with superficial problems. I wish this movie could be buried somewhere in Arizona and never found again. Like E.T. for Atari.
Artists just ain't what they used to be either. Concerts look more like a broadway play with choreographed dancing n all. Funny how you go to a concert but there's no instruments.
@escinc11 that's because you are listening to pop music! support your underground rock scene! there's plenty of good music out there, it just doesn't get the attention it deserves!
This is one of the most underrated movies ever. This movie is just to cool not too like it. The casting, the music, the story. everything comes togheter in this movie. Liv Tyler is underrated as an actress anyway , probably because of her dad being famous and all. Liv Tyler rules she can act.
I will never understand why the studio didn't put a clean version of this edit out on CD. The original's a total yawn and does nothing with the lyrics!
I love this movie, alone, and this song just makes it that much better:).... The mid to late 90s were diffinitely the best years ever, in my opinion:)
I remember when this movie came out in '95. The music world was stuck right in the middle of mire of grunge, alternative and gangsta rap. The mid-90's look was very confusing and drab. It was the antithesis of the 80's -- with dark, beat up clothing, dirty hairstyles and slacker mentality. It was a bit like the 60's with the hippie looks and crazy mentality, but none of the cool factor. This movie reflects a lot of what was going on in that time. I don't have very fond memories of it.
@MasterJediDude Judging from your name its probably cuz you were too busy reading comic books and getting wedgies from the kids in school that weren't socially retarded....meanwhile the 90s grunge rock and this movie rock! Sucks to be you dude!
so i guess when they remake this movie, it will be a day of 8 shitheads sitting in front of their computers downloading 'great' music like the incessant droning of animal collective and the generic garbage of lady gaga while sending text messages of frowning faces and quotes of nilhilist philosophers. THRILLING!
@illuminatioracle What are you basing that I am a waste off of? I don't think you know me nor do i think you can base that off of my previous comment...
I know right!? The record stores today are nothing like they were in the 80's & 90's... I miss those times. This past decade has completely sucked... I feel sorry for the kids who are growing up in the 2000's. Shitty music, shitty movies... shitty everything.

@BudlightBuzzin I know, man! I'm nostalgic...AND I DIDN'T EVEN GET TO LIVE THROUGH ANY OF IT!! I fucking hate this generation! I wish I could've grown up when you guys did! Although, there is one AMAZING record store in my city I hangout in all the time! I miss the '60s through '90s...especially the punk/ska scene of the early '80s through '90s! Fucking sucks. There's about a total of 10 Punk kids in this piece of shit town, in this piece of shit generation. xP
@BudlightBuzzin I went from 8 to 18 in the 2000's. I love it. You can enjoy all the music from the 2000's, 90's, 80's, 70's, 60's, 20's, Mongolian 11th century, etc... with the internet and good influences :D
@BudlightBuzzin yeah, but some of us ignore the present and listen to good music. i'm a bigger fan of queen, the beatles, led zeppelin, michael jackson (early mj, anyway), and others than i am of glee and all those pop stars of today, and i've at least heard songs that i really love that were from the 70s-90s.
Record stores were not just "stores". More like a cosmic lifeforce that supported its own ecosystem of sorts. No matter who you were or what kind of music you were looking for. @jankyme ...absolutely mate!!!! What a feeling it was to walk into a music store, touch all those CDs and the feeling of unwrapping it and looking at the booklet for the first time. Havent felt that feeling in around 6 or 7 years.
To those of you who don't know this already, that wasn't Renee Zellweger singing. The person who was really singing was the girl who did the voice for some Tommy on the Rugrats cartoon. I think her name is E.G. Daily.
Renee was a lot hotter and more natural back then, she's still beautiful but I liked her better with longer hair. If you get the chance to check out her senior pic from high school, you're in for a treat dudes!
can't believe rotten tomatoes gave it such a low rating. I mean yeah its not deep or anything, but its a good movie, its feelgood. -shrugs- well i'm happy it was made :)
i saw this movie the other day for the first time and since then i've watched it like 5 times :S fucking best movie of all time ! renee is such a good singer !
This version kills the original. The original is just too contrived. This one just seems more natural. Also Rene's voice just crushes the original vocals at that point in the original.
@willowbaby I know; this movie epitomizes the 90s - the great music, when movies requires interesting characters, etc. It will always be one of my favorites!
Well, they obviously reworked the lyrics to include a backup part for Gina. Also, maybe some of the lyrics were changed because they were deemed to risque? I mean, since the original song contains references to the singer performing oral sex on a girl. The MPAA are prudes who will allow only so much sexual content before they slap a R rating on a movie, so film directors/producers have to tone it down if they want to keep a PG-13 rating. I dunno, just a guess.
@AChickenBoo agreed i dont think they wanted the phrase "when i lick between your thighs" in there, just not suitable for the movie, but still this version is amazing renee makes the song 10x better
You can download this audio track through Limewire or any P2P software program. It's going to have all the dialogue in it, though. I've never found the Gina version of this song without Lucas and everyone talking over it.
I love this video. <3

Dammmmm I forgot how much i like this song....
Specially this version with the chick singing...just F!@#$!@$ awesome!!!
maddoido 1 year ago
This version should be on the soundtrack.

This version kills the original. The original is just too contrived. This one just seems more natural. Also Rene's voice just crushes the original vocals at that point in the original.

@incubuskid09 this song was the whole entire reason i bought the soundtrack!

sitnam44 1 year ago
why do they sing thier own lyrics?? coz there r few diffrences than the original song right???
ilike ths one better anyway!
brit387 1 year ago
Well, they obviously reworked the lyrics to include a backup part for Gina. Also, maybe some of the lyrics were changed because they were deemed to risque? I mean, since the original song contains references to the singer performing oral sex on a girl. The MPAA are prudes who will allow only so much sexual content before they slap a R rating on a movie, so film directors/producers have to tone it down if they want to keep a PG-13 rating. I dunno, just a guess.
AChickenBoo 1 year ago 5
@AChickenBoo agreed i dont think they wanted the phrase "when i lick between your thighs" in there, just not suitable for the movie, but still this version is amazing renee makes the song 10x better

BTW, he guy who wrote the song, Coyote Shivers, played Berko in this movie, so I'm sure he rewrote the new lyrics himself.
Also, he was Liv Tyler's stepfather at the time this movie was filmed. Not relevant to this discussion, but just a little bit of trivia.

You can download this audio track through Limewire or any P2P software program. It's going to have all the dialogue in it, though. I've never found the Gina version of this song without Lucas and everyone talking over it.
yrch69 1 year ago
yea, i though so
it's a good version and i'd like to have it without the people talking over it.

Buy the soundtrack...that has no talking on it
