  • @williamped1 I have fond memories of this song, I used to walk to my old high school to watch a freind preform in chorus, and I remember one time this song started playing on my cd player just as I got to the school, when I hear it, it reminds me of the good ol days.

  • When I hear something from the Jailbreak album, I always think of the Hair of the Dog album by Nazareth, and vice versa. I guess it's because they came out close together in '75 and '76. Some of the best rock of my life.

  • For me the best Lizzy song ever! Brings back great memories of being 14 back in 1978. Spent the best parts of a months paper round wages and waited 3 weeks for delivery just to get this on 7" Vinyl. Had to order it from the US as it was never released on 7" in the UK but just had to have it! an still got it to this day, played to death mind ya! lol

  • Best song on the jail break album...which is one of the great AOR albums of its time

  • 2 people are really f---ed up. Classic band, classic voice, classic riffs - 'nuff said.

  • How could I have forgotten how mighty tinlizzy was/is,it is quite possibly the best song ever A cowboys life is the life for me.

  • I was at a rock bar in my hometown with some friends, just hanging out then this song came on and i just blocked everything around me and rocked hard as fuck! Thin Lizzy is sick

  • @DonAn2n92 Man same thing happened to ME. We were beers deep out in the desert under a full moon and raging camp fire and THIS came on. WAS life changing mate!! Unreal SONG.

  • I didn't know a song could kick so much ass.

  • Thin Lizzy is my official religion.

  • Thank you God for Phil Lynott...........BEAUTIFUL

  • Oh God. I used to be sort of annoyed when in the live version he shouts, "THE COYOTE CALL" like 3 times. But I just realized how truly fucking beautiful it is. I can't bear to hear it now without him screaming it to the crowd. I wish i was there every inch of my yearns to be there in Phil's presence.

  • bloody awesome.

I am 14, Thin Lizzy is one of my all-time fave bands, and in my opinion this is one of the best 10 songs ever written. ever. I went to see Limehouse Lizzy (the best tribute band ever) live, and they were amazing, but still not quite the same - no one can reach the same level of greatness

    RIP Mr Lynott :'-(

  • any true blue fan dont need lyrics the song is in the blood and the heart thin lizzy forever

  • Rock And Roll Hall Of Famers in my mind. And I don't think its really is a Rock and Roll of Fame with out them.........................

  • @aerowayne1 : Roc'n Roll Hall of Shame is a real "JOKE"!..unfortunately their are Musicians, Groups, Duets, Singers & Producers that shoulda, woulda, coulda've been nominated but they'er not...who are these people that makes the decisions?

  • @tornmask Morons, they need to let the fans of rock n roll elect the people who really belong in there stupid club. And Thin LIzzy would get my vote.

  • @aerowayne1 : AMEN! =o]

  • Underrated band with some of the best guitar players EVER!

  • The guitar solo in this song is one of, if not my favorite of all time.

  • @stellastarr69 oh hell yeah! I love that solo too!!

  • @stellastarr69 Which one?

  • @dan3452648 Both of them

  • @stellastarr69 i have to agree with you :):)

  • @stellastarr69 which one? there is two solos in this song.

  • Boss, this is the real boss!!!

  • Not sure you need the "the".

Boss, this is real boss!!! works aswell in the context of using a word completly out of context.

  • rap is for the simple minded and illiterate

  • @jeradschulte WELL SAID

  • I used to think like you, until I decided to at least give it a try. Now, I listen to rap almost as often and rock or any other music style. There's no doubt that you'll find a lot of trash in rap, but the same can be said about every other genre.

It's sad to know that someone could go through their entire life hating something they could have very well enjoyed; if only they had learned to put their prejudice aside.

  • well said ! but rap takes the cake when it comes to explicit lyrics. clasic rock is nowhere near rap in that department. so i say again its for the simple minded

  • @jeradschulte Rap Blows!!!!! in my opinion, except for old rap

  • remindes me of a female friend who lives life to the fullest

  • This is quite possible the best fuckin song ever.

  • yes it fucking is dude!!! Phil Lynott will never die!

  • @briant420 it is

  • @briant420 True that bother :)

  • @briant420 or brother, teehee!

  • @briant420 Quite possibly...

  • @briant420 quite possibly get some learnin I T I S

  • We need to treat all rappers like candy!!! After you're done with the candy...throw away the (w)rappers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • YOU CAN'T FADE OR FUCK WITH CLASSIC ROCK !

rap on the other hand is destine to return from where it came the f n ghetto and fade away !

  • Got my nephew into Lizzy,he's 21 and loves them!

  • I would love to see them again but that have to wait for some years, cause I have a long life leaft.

But still this Is one of the best! The best line up I think Is snowy white and ´Gorham lissen to them at Germany live 81 preforms My baby Drives Me Crazy It's One of a kickass period of Thin Lizzys fame.

My 2nd line up Is Live in Sydney Gorham and Gary More, but I do think this line up with Gorham and Brian Robertson Is good to.

// I know I spell bad , English aint my language !THIN LIZZY

  • @junia123321

they were at wacken open air 2009

  • @junia123321

  • Fuckin A Right!!! they are nothin compared to the TL shredders!!!!

  • i'm glad you think so

  • Great song Great Band and just a flat out great era of Rock and we will never see this again

  • I was born in '73 and my uncle was 18. Thankfully, he seemed to want to take me everywhere he went after I was out of diapers. This was one of the bands we would listen to while driving around in his Chevelle. I love this song.

  • Ok, I admit I'm kind of old...but i shared this song with my son; he took a copy of this to his highschool when he was a junior and the teacher asked them to share some music. He said that when the song first started they all looked skeptical but when the song got to ripping everyone was amazed. They had never heard of Thin Lizzy. A great song and band who didn't get the recognition they deserved.

  • well put i agree completely and it saddens me to think that the only reason that the band aren't considered one of the best groups of their time is because they were an Irish group.... i mean look at some of the bands that came from england and weren't as good as Lizzy but just because there English.....

  • That and the fact the radio stations only played two songs

  • what do you mean ?

  • Was there....and did that. Whoever said this was the best era for music,.....well said, I will have to agree.

  • love this the first time i heard this song and jail break then of course whisky in the jar i knew i was listining to gods

God i wish i was alive in that era of music.Music today is almost all shit now.

  • Love this song, its just a great song that gets you out of the dumps and helps you with those problems you have with everyone person experence

  • Ah...this is my favorite Thin Lizzy song....too bad I wasn't around to see them play :'(

  • I love me some Thin Lizzy. This song takes me back to the day. Love it!!

  • this song is awesome.

  • In the past month since I first listened to this song, it has become one of my favourites, and doesn't look likely to change being so either. Also, the second guitar solo is only the second one I've heard that I prefer from the studio than live.

  • Indeed, one of the best songs in rock history...considering I was only 10 years old when Phil died, I wasn't fortunate enough to witness them live, but whenever I want a lift for my Spirit, I pop on the Peel Sessions CD...

Rock on, Phil...say hello to Jimi and Bill Hicks for me ;)

  • very nice comment :D

  • Cheers! =]

  • my fav. thin lizzy song. god they rocked. I only wish I had been around to see them.

  • same!

  • I MISS PHIL.

  • The world will never see a band like Thin Lizzy, ever again. Thank God I lived through the era in which they graced the Earth.
