better than the gibson faded sg. the g400 62 and 66 sg's have

better tone and tone versatility. and the necks on the g400 62 and 66

sg's have a better feel and faster action!

Nice playing man! I think hearing the AC/DC on clean was actually a pretty good idea, but I think maybe you should've played a little more bluesish stuff. Anyone who listens to AC/DC knows their stuff is based on blues, they just rip it. I wish your volume was a little lower, you're overloading the mic on your camera or whatever your using, killing a lot of the tone, and replacing it with crackle. But nic playing!!!

@angusg61 Actually its not horrible, AC/DC doesn't use any distortion on their amps, as a matter of fact there is not even a distortion channel on their amps. They just turn everything up so that it sounds distorted.

The gibson one- But it's also like, 400$ more expensive. It also has much better pickups- But, the Epiphone G-400 (the non faded epiphones sg standard) has good finish, and rectangle inlays, etc, and you could switch out the pickups for ones better than the gibson sg ones, and still pay less than the gibson sg. It's your choice though, try both.

I bought one last week and love it. I've had so many guitars over the years but having a gibson sg (instead of epiphone)was something i wanted for a long time. its great sounding and i run it through a fender blues junior amp.

i also own fender telecatster, washburn southwest series electro acoustic and a freshman electro acoustic. my fiance has a yamaha acoustic too.

all i want now is a gibson 335 and my collection is complete.

The same guitar, but gibson did'nt spend so much time on the looks when they made it compared to the standard. dot Inlays, no neck binding and very little time spent on the finish. The finish is the most time consuming part when building a guitar.

It sounds like a standard. You may hear some minor diffrences, but they are very very small.

I upgraded mine. My stock tuning pegs couldn't stay in tune for more than a few minutes, I got pickup covers (couldn't stand the look) and basically based it off a 60's model.

I'm really considering getting a Gibson Faded SG Special Electric Guitar because it's nearly half the price of the standard SG at guitar center...and I believe it sounds exactly the same? Can someone tell me the difference between the SG faded and the standard? Or is it just the finish?

yeah those are the same things i took into consideration when i was getting this guitar. i would go with this because its so much cheaper with nearly the same sound. but obviously if your gonna pay that much more money, the tone on the standard is a little bit better. the finish is obviously not faded on the standard, there are no pickup covers on the faded, and the pickups are different on the standard. so those are the differences, but if you're on a budget go for the faded sg.
