the fact remains that the only differences between the OS's are mainly the GUI's and if anyone would pay attention or learn some thing Microsoft and Mac came from the same basic program that sort of works like Ubuntu does which is freeware my point is it does not matter what a person has it is still at its core the same thing. The only real charge is the lack of need for the mouse and if you did not know that is what made the largest impact with the GUI setup effectively they just went backtoDOS

@cainknighthood what a load of rubbish. I can easily do far more multi-tasking with OSX or Linux compared to clunky Windows 7, and yes using the same exact spec PC. Windows 7 starts impressive then slows down as time goes on, frankly its a clunky pile of crap.

@MrJelle18 only thing important is that apple has never really succeeded with their software, now with windows 8 you will actually be able to move things from one device to another without using a cable, like the good old plug-and-play, only this time it's wireless :) there's a few good videos about it.

and you can still change the interface of the software if you don't like the "touch screen desktop look".

Those weren't even my main concern, they're sacrificing functionality to make way for "ease of use". Power users get left in the dirt to pander to the masses, which makes sense from a business point of view, but saddens me greatly because I like to mess around with the way things work and figure out what I can change to my own liking.

The connect would work if it wasnt proprietary, and was built into every new monitor being released. It can be used for multi face tracking, which means for at least a single user experience ... 3d screens without glasses, head tracking in games, this would be incredible especially in fps games ...if you need an explanation search for "head tracking wii"

I feel like Windows 8 is based around a gimmick and roughly still the same operating system as Windows 7. The way you switch around between two environments is just inconvenient and I would just end up using the one that is based on Windows 7. In other words I feel like Windows 8 is not worth it if you're just going to use it on your PC.

@Car1ll Actually, Windows 8 is windows 7. The only thing they did to it was add Windows Mobile to it. You can turn the metro UI off and it turns into windows 7. There really is nothing new. If you want to test drive it, download the Dev preview.

the new windows 8 (or currently windows developer preview) does offer quite an extensive hardware boost, useful for people like graphics designers and hardcore gamers, currently it does use windows 7 hardware drivers and the interface is like windows7, but the start menu is what you saw in the video, i personally think of it as an add on to windows 7 instead, but i would recommend it that you try a bit
