I've had the priviledge of having Leah as a friend since 1997. She is an amazing musician & person in general. When we met this single was playing non-stop on KRNK , Portland,OR. I spent hours talking with her & then guitarist, John Lowery, who went on to later work with Marilyn Manson as John5. They were amazing to get to know & I was even photographed by Rolling Stone with Leah at Lilith Fair at The Gorge in George,WA. To this day she is one person I know I can relate to. One word - GENUINE!

Maybe it's the fact that I'm weird myself, but I really don't understand what people are talking about with all the comments about how weird or eccentric her singing is. :)

But yeah, I remember this song being played a lot on the radio station I used to listen to back in 96-97, to where it almost became tiresome. Finally, in mid-97, I caved in and bought the CD and it had even better songs on it (like 'Happy Birthday'). It was a great album.

Totally agree bud, I heard her on the radio just now for the first time and at first thought it was Ani difranco but the voice was so insanely all over the place and sooo ridiculous that I had to look her up. Again I totally agree, however this version is not as insane, I heard the acoustic version and it's soo retarded, she's soo abviously trying to be Ani but on crack! lol.

Amazing how this song--both lyrics and performance--still hold up today. I'm only sad that this was the only song off of "Veiled" that saw any real airplay. It's one of my all-time favorite albums.

Hi, thanks for your comment. This was the version that was shown in France (and maybe other European countries). I didn't know there was another one than this one! I'm glad you liked it.
