  • Screw the lyrics man. They're good but I could care less as long as u keep playing like that. I've been playing for eleven yrs but I just now started teaching myself how to slide. That's awesome man.

  • Very good

  • nice

  • right on.

  • hi how long you played on that dobro sounds good or a resenator guitar

  • Nice!

  • outstanding slide blues...man, you got it going on!

    lyric suggestion?

(popped in my head as I listened to your vid, so use 'em if you want to) too mean to walk out , too scared too run in a losing battle... with the bugs and sun the muddy swamp water ...killed my father and the

damn muddy swamp water blues......wins another one"

  • you should add another line on this, like I'm so tired of being lonely, and I I'm tired of these muddy swamp water blues" but it is a kick ass blues number. keep rocking those blues.you have really good lyrics to this jam. but you kind of leave it hanging. your slide playing is really good. you have that old time kind of sound on it. great guitar too by the way. peace Joe

  • @thebluesrockers Thanks man, I appreciate your thoughtful comment. Good idea on the lyrics, btw

  • Thanks!

  • OH MY GOD this is awesome man love it

  • pretty insane man, im listening to your playlist right now :)

  • @ironcow64 thanks for the comment!

  • Very nice, I'm becoming a bigger and bigger fan of slide guitar. There's just something about it that's got the slither of a snake but the precision of a scalpel. Between that a classical nylon guitar man, you can't find anything better.

  • @maynardsgaylover Thanks! I also am a fan

  • totally sweet man. im diggin this 110%

  • @DivineCult much appreciated!

  • I dig your sound man, real nice!

  • @brknshldr Thanks!

  • diggin your style. can have some of that mojo?

  • @rcsiegler thanks for the comment and subscribing! If you lived near me we could jam sometime. maybe something would rub off

  • I'm a memphis girl. and a big time wanna be. i play almost exclusively slides, old style and quite primative. fred mcdowell, rl burnsides, jesse mae hemphill, junior kimbrough - all that north mississippi foothill country blues is what turns me on. But to be perfectly honest, my talents are singing and songwriting. Can't seem to make my hands play what's in my head.

But judging from your video, I think we are definitely on the same page.

    So yeah, let's jam sometime.

  • @rcsiegler only if I was closer to memphis

  • Frikkin awesome! Must have been workin on a P-farm in ya former life!

    5*

  • @CarlBank250 Thanks for the nice comment!

  • can u please teach how to play blues rhythm?

    and check out my songs?

    ur really good at blues!

  • @blackbeltbrown Thanks for the interest, but I'm one of these people who can do, but I'm not so good at teaching how I do it.

  • Very nice Robert, Another greeting from down under

  • A BISCUT! :DD

  • i still have no Idea how to play with my slide

  • Me and my friends were sitting in front of my house and watched the sun goes down behind the gosaukamm(visit gosau.org) and listened to your song and other songs to and this was awesome. your voice is unique, very cool. keep on sliding my friend. cheers for that mate! GREETINGS FROM AUSTRIA

  • @Badstuma Thank you kindly sirs! I appreciate your time and consideration in commenting

  • This ain't somethin you tab out.You just listen till you know it in your soul and then you can play it.

  • well done keep up the good work

  • like what you did, wish i could do half as well.

  • almost like In my time of Dying by Led Zeppelin

  • Really nice song I love it. too bad the vocals couldn't be heard better or more clearly.

  • I think this is great. Whoever commented on the lyrics probably isn't a guitar player. I'm really liking this man. Well done.

  • @tomvband thank you kindly, sir

  • "It's in G which is pretty easy to play slide in standard tuning"

I don't get it, the guitar is tuned to Open G or are you playing this in standart tuning?

  • @caralhosvosfodam it's std tuning, key of g

  • well IIIIIIII think it's good ;)

  • well IIIIIIII think it's good ;)

  • is this ur song? if it is can i have the tabs if possible?

  • yes, this is my song, but I don't have it tabbed out nor do I have the time to do it. It's easy though. Pentatonic 12 bar blues in G with a turnaround

  • nice and hearty man. solo can be a little less scratchy/choppy, but u prob know that already. noice

  • I really want to learn this.

  • like the music, but the lyrics are a bit cheesy

  • Thanks for the comment. I went with traditional blues style lyrics by choice partly because I'm not much into serious lyrics. This is a play on the Red House theme.

  • Sounded great

  • ure awesome man!

  • your bands pretty good man

  • go deeper man or you`ll be sitting at the crossroad - and noone comes

  • you can show me how it's done anytime. let me know, k? thanks

  • cool song brother

  • i could see this playing as i am driving sounds good ,right on

  • i like slide song

  • holy shit! that was sick!

  • You ooze the blues,sweeeeeeeeeeeeet !

  • Very nice brother, keep up the good work!

  • Nice guitar

  • Amazing song, love it. Thanks for sharing it with us! :-)

  • thank you kindly

  • real dreamy sound bro, I really liked it ...

    the lyrics are nice too...

I hope to do some slide someday

    gotta love the blues ;)

    regards

  • copy the classics. keep it simple. thanks for the comment! have fun

  • no worries man, your guitaring is very good, its so relaxing :)

  • i love this shit man its gritty and cool im teaching myself hoe to play with slide and i love it.

  • you sound like the singer for lynyrd skynrd :)

  • Thanks, that's a very kind compliment

  • hellyeah it is :D

  • I think you dont like Lynyrd Skynyrd ha?

  • what makes you think that?

  • all i wanna say is that ronnie van zants voice is completely different than yours dont get me wrong or somthin.

  • no problem. I agree

  • ey man very good!very beautifull blues!

  • hey buddy, wat kinda tuning are u using?

  • I use standard mostly. thanks for the comment

  • That is real black old skool blues. Respect.

  • thanks for the comment!

  • how come your band didn't put this on myspace?

  • we don't even play this song. weird huh?

  • hey does anyone know if they sell those tubey things for slide in guitar stores or do u like just get a medicine bottle and stick it in your picky lol. i've been wanting to play slide so bad so i just put it in open D and use my fingers

  • Do you have tabs? awesome job by the way

  • No tabs. no time, but thanks for the interest. This song is just pentatonic scale in the key of G. Pretty easy as far as scales go

  • DAMN!!...no seriously.

  • DUDE! this is the shit!!!! you should get a video up of your band improvizing a jam that would be sweet.

  • Thanks for the comment. I'll see what I can do

  • daamn thas cool man DEO VINDICE!!!

  • keep the blues alive!!

    Very good job man!

    YOU ROCKS!

  • very nice! check out my vid voodoo catfish... it's my very first attempt at playing slide.

  • Comment removed

  • I like

  • Very nice..

  • Great playing.

How is the guitar tuned from the upper string down?

    Håkan

  • Thank you for the comment. E A D G B E. I play slide in standard tuning

  • Nice job, I liked very much.

  • thanks for the interest. I'm not going to tab it out, but it's about as easy as it gets. It's just your standard 12 bar blues in G with a turnaround. The intro is the turnaround. Guitar is tuned to standard, not an open tuning. Use the pentatonic scale for soloing. It takes practice, so have fun.

  • would you please make a tab for this.. i am just starting to learn slide guitar on this resonator my grandma bought.. i live in silvercreek ms an i just wanted to learn to play like that before she dies.. is there any tips you could give me or would you please make a tab

  • holy crap nice guitar there.

  • thanks for listening

  • Awesome! Where did you learn to play like that?

  • I've got mojo and a black cat bone, haha! I've been playing for many years as a student of rock. Rockin blues just comes out, but I did have to practice to get good at slide

  • awesome stuff. I've always been a delta blues fan, but you're definitely making me reconsider swamp blues.

  • nice comment, thanks!

  • Very good job, Buddy!

  • Thanks! Coming from a Sabbath fan that means a lot

  • FAVED! Amazing!

  • Enjoying from Brazil .. cool to listen ! PEACE

  • Thanks!

  • great comment! thanks man. I am in the process of recording some of my songs, but I'm not sure this one will make the first cut because it's my most typical blues tune and I find it boring after awhile.

  • Well, I'd incline to disagree with the last part of your statement ("boring after a while"), because I think you are doing an awesome job on this one. I guess it's a matter of perception - from a listener's perspective, though, let me ensure you that this wasn't anywhere near boring. Secondly, you have a very distict voice which perfectly fits the tune.

After all, I love this one and it is one of my youtube favs.

  • I appreciate your comments! Thanks for the support

  • Your voice sounds like Bon Scott - has a whip to it - very distinctive. Guitar playing great as well. Thanks for sharing. Look forward to hearing this if you get a chance to record it to a better standard (i.e. better standard of sound reproduction, not playing!).

  • Nice!

  • play them blues

  • sounds alot like voodoo child

  • it does?

  • yah, the intro sounds like the main riff. not thats a bad thing, but i can definately hear some hendrix in your playing. But you made it your own and it sounds wicked cool!

  • nice dobro work, wish the vocals were louder so we could hear the rest of the story. jimmy

  • What do you have on your pink?

  • That's my glass slide

  • awesome!

  • i wish i could play guitar like you do. :[

ive tried so many times, and i still cant.

  • I've been playing guitar for over 20 years man. Keep practicing and have fun!

  • hey man, i just am gettin into slide guitar, bought a new slide today, cud u maybe tell me a few of the tuning that ppl use, as ive read and heard there are a few different 1s like dAGDAD

  • you can google it and find out more than I can tell you. I usually use standard tuning for slide and rarely any open tunings.

  • not bad not bad :D

  • Hey man very nice!

Am i wrong or is it a Mw10 Johnson resonator??

  • Thanks! This guitar is a Gibson Houndog Roundneck 60R dobro

  • Yeah sorry i read to late the infos!

Where did you find such a model? I looked on the net and there was only the simple dobro hound dog model

  • I'm not sure wher to find one. I bought mine new from a local music store when they were in production.

  • Sweet sound how long have you been playing?

  • Thanks for the comment! 21 years on guitar. About 5 on slide

  • "...got a little fish to fry." hehe

Ah, good ol' Loozy-anna "dog under the porch with an infected ear" blues. Every time I hear that style, I picture run-down shantys in bayou swamps at dusk.

Curious... Is "dobro" an actual guitar, or just a style of guitar? I think the only kind I've seen is the Danelectro that everyone knows about.

    Killer stuff. :)

  • dobro is a kind of guitar

  • great sound

  • i love your style

have y tried anything other than standard though?

and i have been playing guitar for 8 years but cant get that slididng tech down

    any tips?

  • Thanks for the comment. I recently put up a vid of me messing around with an open E tuning. As far as tips, I'd say just keep working at it.

  • Great slide tone! Love it.

  • thats was really good. Do you do any alternate tunning? I just started slide guitar and i need some tips.

    Thanks.

    ~Joe

  • Thanks! I have started to play with alternate tunings like an open E. It's fun and easy to get a good sound. Not much challenge though, and I still feel a little handicaped when I'm not in standard.

  • drop tune your blues dude, sounds nice but....

  • Excellent slide playing and some fun lyrics. Loved the song. Thanks :)

  • Very nice, thanks!

  • i like that your voice isnt so much in the song. Not a bad thing its just to notice the song but more focus on the guitar. Its real good

  • so you play all your slide stuff in standard eh? can i ask why? yeh your voice reminds me of kings of leon as well. not bad.

  • I prefer standard. More challenging for some, yet easier for me, and I only need one guitar.

Never heard of kings of leon, but I suppose it's a good compliment, thanks! Check out the myspace recordings to hear it kick harder.

  • Legit man!

  • sweet man. very nice.

  • eres el puto amo

  • I loved your sliding, and you got a real blues voice. So, thumbs up!

My only suggestion is to play around with your mic some, as your voice was a little hard to pick up. I would pay to hear that song with a little more balanced mic-ing between the guitar and vocals.

    Keep sliding,

    -WritersHand

  • fuck yeah!!! love it. your voice reminds me on that guy from the band 'kings of leon', really raw. and please, dont waste your energie replying to assholes like cabjdavid.

  • Thanks alot for the friendly comment

  • On the real.. don't even waste your time or energy on "cabjdavid" obviously some faggot mother fucker who got his ball taken away from him at a young age... keep up the good work!!!

  • Thanks, you're right. I'm not the kind of person who takes unneccesary flaming very well. I get so many people trying to share vids with me and it gets annoying because they are usually trying to milk my hits or something stupid.

  • oh and can u comment on my vids

  • Hey dude this is a really sick video

By the way what key are you playing in?

  • Thanks man, I always play in standard.

  • hey at least i show my face you ugly motherfucker

  • yo i could bust so much sicker shit on that guitar dog..holy shit and dont call that shit original. fucking poser ass pussy

  • this kind of sucks..check out my shit

  • nice try emo kid. don't waste my time trying to get attention.

  • Far out. I find nothing to complain about. Good all around performance. Oh...If you do any more videos, how about boosting the vocal mic a bit.

  • Swampy =)

  • nice...nice...lyrics were realy good. keep jammin!

  • Oh, hell yeah.

  • great sound eyeprod

  • Great! btw what tuning do you use?

  • thanks for the comments everyone. I use standard tuning

  • Standard tuning as in [e-a-d-g-b-e] or standard slide as in [d-a-d-f#-a-d]?...

Bloody good job on the song and the slide mate..

    Jeffro

  • Standard EADGBE - I love open tunings, but not for slide. I know, I'm backwards!

  • Awesome keep up the good work!!!

  • sounds wicked good!!

  • I like the blues. I can play a little but Im a beginner. I have a dolboro(Im not sure how you spell it) guitar but it gets so quick because I try so hard. Usually in the summer I usually get 8-10 hours of playing time. And in between resting periods I have to clean the dirt, smudge, and grease off of my chrome nickel plated body and the old rusty strings of my dolboro guitar.

  • 'but it gets so "dirty" quick because'

  • Killer!!

  • What kind of dobro is that?

  • this is a Gibson made Hound Dog Roundneck. '03 model, I believe. Discontinued

  • truly amazing. FAR better than any modern jazz and R&B shit

  • Wow, thanks for the great comment!
