This is not Lafleur's last game, it's his second to last game. The Nordiques played back to back game against Montreal to close the 90-91 season, the first game at the Forum, the second at the Colisée. The game at the Colisée is his real last game, he scored a goal and the Nordiques won 4-2. Stéphane Morin had two goals that night (RIP Stéph.). God I'm pathetic to remember all of that.
actually your right about this not being his last game because they played the last one at the colisee but your wrong about lafleur scoring in quebec he scored his last one in montreal ...........
well im pathetic too....I remember all that....even the puck that a fan throw on the ice during gameplay in the third period...;)....I remember that game cuz I was watching it with my dad....
I had the priviledge of meeting Guy this past Tuesday night. One of the nicest guys i ve ever met. A true gentleman off the ice and a fierce tiger on the ice!
In Ontario we had to watch the Leafs that Saturday night. HNIC switched to the Forum for the end of the game but you just know that we missed something special that night. God damn Leafs... the didn't even make the playoffs that year.
Not all CBC stations in Ontario aired the Leafs game that night...CBLT Toronto CFPL London were probably the only CBC affiliates to air the Leafs games rather than Guy Lafleur's last game in the Montreal Forum on March 30th, 1991. CBC affiliates CBOT Ottawa, CKWS Kingston, CHEX Peterborough, and MCTV Northern Ontario aired the Nords vs. Habs game in its entirety. Back in those days...the Leafs did not dominate the Hockey Night in Canada schedule...Habs were often the featured team on HNIC.
I was listening to a sports radio program around the time that the CBC was receiving alot of criticism for jumping on the Hab's playoff bandwagon. The new big guy for CBC said that the Toronto market was just too big to ignore and that our market would get the Leafs up the wazzou until the end of time... well, that's just great... super.
CBC's HNIC is becoming less and less important in this day and age of the 500 channel universe...I watch all 82 regular season games and playoff Habs' games on RDS.
There was a time when HNIC was the only time we could watch NHL hockey on TV. Hopefully the Leafs will continue to suck and playoff ratings for HNIC will continue to suffer because of it. HNIC was once an institution in this country...it is now just a Maple Leaf propaganda show and a figment of its former self.
I remember this game. Guy Guy Guy.....

Guy Lafleur, one of the all time greats!
He did try a helmut for a short while. Wasn't the same and went back to flowing blonde hair!

He wore a hair piece at this point of his career, much like Hull.

You got it right the first time. One of the last ones.
Craig McTavish was the last one to play without a helmet. He retired after the 1997 season.

thats insane to think people played that recently without helmets.
