Phantastic! I didn't really like this instrument before. Never say never)))) In the moments of peace and soul freedom. This song really sends shiver down my spine. Thank you)
i was in love with that song but i didnt knew artist or title!!!i really thank my luck for find it!!!! it make my soul feel..beyond everything knowing..
It's Bable. It is spoken in Asturias in the north of Spain. Beautiful place.
amazing song, but there is one thing I think that could even be made better in this song: to take it a few (only a FEW) bpm slower. It's kind of hectic at that tempo...(remember: a bit less bpm = more groove)
@pianoman74 it's Asturiano or Bable, a variety of Spanish spoken in rural areas of Asturias (where Hevia comes from), in Northern Spain (the Celtic part of Spain). Kind of old Spanish and different endings in words (es instead of as, for instance). Check Asturian Language on wikipedia for more info.
@Xiroi87 Thank you very much! I would never have found this myself. It's *SO* different from Castellano, not even remotely close to Catalán. Could as well have been some indigenous language :) (formerly known as Red Indians LOL)
@pianoman74 Glad I could helpt! And no, it's not so different from castellano, but I understand not being a Spaniard or native Spanish speaker it must sound incomprehensible. She sings (more or less) "uno fue ??? a mia casa faziendo ruidu con les madreñes" "uno fue xxx a mi casa haciendo ruido con las madreñas" (traditional Asturian wooden shoes). At least that's what I get...
@Xiroi87 Yes, that might be my "problem", because if I listen to an Italian song, I (usually) understand every word; and once I listen to Napoletan dialect, I understand absolutely nothing! (Literally) lol
@pianoman74 Well, not even I got it right!!! mzauri07 has given us the accurate transcription, which translates into Spanish as "tú no vengas más a mi casa haciendo ruido con las madreñas". At least I got the madreñas part right... Been to Asturias just one in all my life (if that's any excuse, lol).
@Xiroi87 You are absolutely wrong, Asturiano is a language which comes from Latin, not from Spanish. And Asturias was never a celtic region. We were culturally influenced by them, that's all.
@PelayoAst Yes I know, I just said both languages are similar.
@pianoman74 It's Asturiano, language from Principality of Asturias. It's one of the several languages which comes from latin that exists in Spain (Asturiano doesn't come from Spanish, you were badly informed). Unfortunately really few people speak "pure" Asturian today (some old people from villages): almost all people mixes it with Spanish and they actually don't know how to speak pure Asturian. Ah, and the woman was not so old when this clip was recorded, she was 50 years old. Regards.
Excellent...no other words...excellent.....bravo....i watched this video the time it has been released and, no more till last night...and now it's on- REPEAT ((::
@PosadMen, actually it's Asturian, the meaning is the same, but the lyrics are "Tú nun güelvas más a mio casa. Faciendo ruiu con les madreñes"... It's beautiful song. :)
Australia meets Asturias and both get along like BFFs! and they are ONLY in the antipodes of each other...! globalization in music is the bomb! by the way, the old lady says: no vuelvas mas a casa haciendo ruido con las madreñas...she sings in bable though..."dont return home making noise with the clog..." clog is a special wooden shoe used in rainy and muddy regions!!
Celtic music? I'm pretty sure that he's playing the Spanish pipe , and songs inspired by the Spaniard tradition and not the Celtic . I may be wrong though!
@chthomos Buenas noches :-) Esto pasa a veces. No te preocupes.

I do hope wikipedia is reliable in this. It seems that the gaita is the name of the instrument, while Asturias refers to the region where it is the traditional instrument. I suppose that the Galician doesn't apply to Hevia, as he is from Asturias. Stupid me for copy-pasting the first three words I see ^^'

In the future, songs like this will be remember, not as nowdays want to buy as "music".

Molto bello ! Hevia è un grande musicista.
