if there would be plant-like organisms there dependant on photosynthasis(?) they would be purple-ish because purple attracts IR light more efficiently. Interesting thought.. planet covered by purple plants.
@TheGodsmacked - Just a little correction -- colors do not "attract" light. Colors are perceived because of the light they reflect back. Purple objects are purple because they absorb green light and reflect red and blue light back. And it's hard to say what color vegetation would be on other worlds because they might have completely different energy-creation processes than on Earth, not just photosynthesis.
