Weight gain was greater in organically fed rats,mortality was lower at 9 weeks, incidence of degenerative diseases was lower. Lower mortality in organically fed rabbits. 2nd and 3rd generation rabbits from organically fed parents had higher birth rates and more viable embryos. Infectious illnesses were less frequent in 2nd generation organically fed animals.

how could we just sit there and allow U.S. government to provide patent to genetically modified seeds and genes (i.e. breast cancer genes)? why are genetically modified ingredients not specifically mention on the food labels? what will be our future? will these huge enterprises and U.S. government take responsbilities?

Monsanto lost that case against that farmer. So let's all just slow down. And the legal systems should have lawyers educated in simple biology. Coupled with the music, this poses to be some kind of threat. Only the ignorant could Hollywood-ize items they don't understand.

Corporations like Monsanto can do almost anything they want because they can buy off the people who write the regulations and appoint the regulators. We need a Constitutional Amendment to abolish "Corporate Personhood" and ban corporations from politics. Then we can get laws passed that protect the people rather than the profits of these companies.

Ok guys seriously... Every day when you eat your food, you also consume tons and tons of genes, DNA and yet you are still alive, aren't you? You didn't mutate did you? So why are you complicating about GMO? The genes that are put into those organisms are practicly the same as your genes in your cells, they only have a different sequence of nucleotides. DNA of all living organisms has the same pattern of structure, only nucletide bases are in different sequence and that's all.

The animals are fed genetically modified food, that food that has antibiotics in it, and god knows what else in it, just doesn't go away once the animal is slaughtered. You are still consuming it. Plus all the crap they inject into the animals. You are better off still knowing what you are consuming, buy from a local farmer, whom you have actually met and you know what they are feeding to their animals. That is really the only way to get around it

Why does everyone fear GM food?

Its no different from selective breeding which has been going on for at least 3,000 years.

Its the GM weapons we should be worried about.

You have to understand that GM technology is different from selective breeding in the sense that selective breeding is naturally limited within the species boundaries where on the other hand GM tech unnaturally forces genes from any organisms to the other. For example spider is fused to goat and jelly fish into rabbit. The result is alien abomination. Without proper safety conduct and strict regulation, which is what the biotech is doing now, the human population is under unknown extreme dangers

If you need to ask then you havent read up on it. They are modifying seeds to pattent them. Which means food control! These foods have been proven to cause serious illness and dangerous side effects. Google star link corn for an example. Cross breeding plants is one thing but adding animal, fish and insect genes to vegetation is a very disturbing move.

NOT like selective breeding or hybridization at all. AFAIK there have been now sharing of genetic material between species of animals & species of plants until GMO. Most Every thing thing we Eassured couldn't happen did. Even if GMO food is safe to eat, there's the ownership issue & that's potentially a bigger problem.

With proper controls genetically modified foods could save millions from starvation. There is nothing inherently "unnatural" about it. Changing genomes to produce more fruit does not posses a danger to mankind - but corporate control does. GM foods should be considered without the shadow of corporate control

I have heard about it, but never thought it something for the elite, but then I was never one to use the word elite without some sort of context. Have any evidence that the saved seeds will not be shared, or do we consider UR assumptions baseless? Even before this project there was a movement that saves open pollinated heirloom seeds that are shared & traded, by every day gardeners. They might t find amusing that they are part of some elite.
