  • i like rammsteins version better

  • Guys:

If you want to dedicate this song to a hot bitch, then Rammstein.

If you want to dedicate this song to your boyfriend, then Depeche Mode

  • de hecho no nomas rammstein la canta tmb shiny toy guns

  • Gahan looks fucking amazing here.

  • This song is amazing!!

  • The original is great.. But fuck rammstein.. Leviathan did the best cover!!

  • I went to Hong Kong with my best friend when I was 16, and this song, along with Opportunities by Pet Shop Boys, embodies that trip for me....listened to them over and over. It brings back that "feeling" I had there- the grittiness, the darkness...it's perfect.

  • Alan is freaking beautiful at 2:25!

  • Beautiful men.

  • Still one of my fav bands. David Gahan's voice..pure nectar...sigh.

  • @bluetwinklers so with you

  • down to the bone <3

  • you "cover douchbags" can cover this song till the end of fucking time

i only want the incomparable Martin/ Gore Original.

  • fuck RAMMSTEIN, BABOSO

  • I hate when bands do covers, because all the fans do is bitch about who's cover was better. Literally a million conversations about the same thing. Can we talk about the political aspect of the song? Can older fans talk about what it was like in 80s when this band was in their prime?Damn.lol

  • yeah... i wouldn't want to go into the trees with him...

  • I know this one it´s the original one!!! but I prefer Rammstein version!!!!

  • What makes me sad is that the cover by Shiny Toy Guns has more views than the real thing....

  • @TwizzieGirl this version ain't available on mobile...that's sure slowed me down. I barely use my computer anymore since my phone's always on me!

  • Its eery how well Scooter redid this song

  • the noise at 0:04 is me fappin

  • this song is unbelievable LIVE!!!

  • Listen to the Shiny Toy Guns version of this song. It's really good!

  • This song with Rammstein and Enjoy the Silence with Lacuna Coil.. some of my favorite songs are covers and I didn't even know

  • best song intro

  • Comment removed

  • both versions are great RAMMSTEIN only did a great tribute, I like Depeche Mode but I'm a fan of Rammstein, Depeche thanks for stripped

  • why the fuck do people think depeche mode is German smh -___- not true fans

  • 2006?!? Looks like a 1980's video.

  • @gothpanda13 its because the video is from 80s but they only remastered the sound

  • @gothpanda13 there was no youtube in the 80's smart one...........

  • @Slushyyy639 YOU THINK I DONT KNOW THAT. IM 50 YEARS DAMN OLD. SUCK MY HAIRY WRINKLY BALLS.

  • @Slushyyy639 oh im sorry. im on my periodz.aksjghkf

  • @Slushyyy639 BEETEEDUBZ. YOOOZA RUUUUUUUUUUDE.

  • one of my fav's from Depeche Mode

  • ..before anyone gets RammenCrazy..I like Rammstein....Just not this version...

  • Wow...just heard the Rammstein version...WTF was that? LOL....I agree with Duodecillian...that shit was horrendous.

  • 18 made the mistake of parking in Depeche Modes parking space

  • Rammstein cover is better

  • @DarkRaiiden If you like comedy, then maybe.

  • @squeemu u mad? uh im sorry

  • @squeemu ----------------aaaaahahahahahahahaha, totally agree !!!

  • I like all versions of this song, including the Rammstein, In Strict Confidence and Shiny Toy Guns covers.. It will always belong to Depeche Mode and those bands cover it because it is such an amazing song.

  • I like Rammsteins cover better. It's not often I like a cover of a song, but this is one of the three that I like better than the original. Cash's Hurt is one and Rammstein's Spookshow Baby is the other, although the latter is a collaboration.

  • 17 people stole Depeche Mode's parking spot.

  • Hey, glenrock1959, Look up the German band "Rammstein Stripped" to see their cover of this song. I really like both versions.

  • Man, this is a great song! Though seriously, for the people arguing about Rammstein and Depeche Mode they both did what artists are supposed to do with music. Depeche Mode created a great song, and Rammstein did a cover that didn't merely retread the same ground and transposed it into their own sound and style. They're both difficult feats to accomplish and they both sound great!

  • Nothing but hot in this song...

  • Who the fuck is that talentless Kimbra bitch, and why is she there everytime I want to listen to this song?

  • Comment removed

  • the synths in this song are sooooooo haunting!!!!!

  • @SuperSaladEaterz I agree with what you're saying, but I have to laugh that you mispelled, "you're dumb."

  • Alan Wilder back for next album??

  • @halation777 Seriously, how awesome would that be!!!!!

  • 17 dislikes? How is that even possible? Martin L. Gore is an amazing songwriter and he especially shines with DM's darker, intense, vulnerable, sensual songs...LOVE IT.

  • Rammstein did not ruin this song!! They just made it very much their own! I personally prefer the R+ version but thats simply because im used to it..

  • you people stop dissen rammstein

  • -''I Recall The Last Time I Heard This Song. I Was On X And Wanting A Blond With Blues Eyes...''-

  • I have to say I prefer the Rammstein version because I just tend to like heavier music. Still, it's a good song regardless of which version it is. Much respect to Depeche Mode for this tune.

  • Ah the days when boys weren't afraid to dance. Thank you Dave.

  • I like Rammstein and Depeche Mode, but I like this one more because I don't feel like I'm going to get raped.

  • @Duodecillian i am so glad there is someone out there who can admit to liking rammstein AND depeche mode instead of just being a crazy psycho person who thinks only one of them can be good at a time :)

  • @Duodecillian there is that.... ahem....

  • all of you people who is verbally bashing depeche mode and putting up this rammstein whoever this asshole is you need a reality check and get your facts straight when a first person writes there song and then someone remakes there original song and then try to cut a lyric from the original song is really stupid so all you people who is saying bad things about depeche mode and saying another band is better you really need to face the truth about an original or a classic song

  • @antdigger excuse me antdigger depeche mode is the original singers of stripped and shiny toy guns didn't write this song depeche mode did and didn't rip them off get your damn facts straight

  • I like how at 1:00 in the video, they went all Art of Noise all over that car.

  • I love this song in this version. Shiny toy guns was ok (didn't like the female parts) and Rammstein's video creep me out with the Hitler stuff.

  • @anticupid84 rammstein has nothing to do with hitler. GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT. my god

  • @animefreak10ify I'm talking about the music video that used old Nazi propaganda clips! CHECK IT OUT AND GET YOUR FUCKING FACTS STRAIGHT.

  • @antdigger Please freaking tell me you're kidding me...please.

  • did that fuck say shinY toy nunS .......

  • @xxxDavidMaysxxx The Situation kind of looks like Dave Gahan

  • Oh, the dancing in this video <3

  • @antdigger

Depeche Mode were the originators of this song, you idiot.

  • I like the song, but why destroy a perfectly good car?

  • Can't say I'm the least bit surprised to find a giant circlejerk between Depeche Mode fans and Rammstein fans here in the comments.

I promise you guys it's actually quite all right for people not to like the same things you do.

  • Okay, I can understand some people liking the Rammstein version (I personally hate it but I know Rammstein is a bit of a pioneer in his own field so I can respect that) but Shiny Toy Guns? Really? Don't even try to talk about them when the subject matter is Depeche Mode.

  • Shiny Toy Guns kills all the versions of this song.... KILLS IT! Plus the lead singer is a hottie

  • The sexual energy from this song is almost overwhelming. Not even from the stand point of "sex" but the deep, intense, emotional energy that cries out. Powerful stuff!

  • Rammstien is absolute crap, compared to depeche mode Learn what real music is!

  • Rammstien is OK but they are nothing compared to Depeche Mode

  • @Jil752 I perfer Rammstein's version because i love heavier music

but this is very good also

  • I have this cd "Black Celebration" in my car for the past 6 months and I never ever ever tire of this song. It's soothing and just what I feel at every moment, being a shy and oversexed girl, who wants to escape the confines of my everyday life at all moments and run into the woods and spend every moment with my love without disturbance. I just love it.

  • @IIIGottesacker Rammstein is a very very gay band FYI

  • @Svperstarr Id say Rammstien are comfortable with their sexuality , even though some of their songs are about homosexuality, they are an amazing band none the less

  • @Svperstarr lol you have bad taste for music

  • @Svperstarr Bands have sexual orientation? I wasn't aware. haha

  • dave reminds me of rick astley in this vid

  • what a grate track to f@#k to.

  • One of DM clearest sounding recordings, a Masterpiece.

  • i remember when we made that video

  • Rammstein sounds like an ogre.

  • i always wanted tot take a blow torch to a t.v set! MELT BITCH MELT! ha ha , seriously he is having oh too much fun, Fuck ya

  • SHUT UP about Rammstein! Their version is a JOKE compared to this divine melody! A JOKE!

  • @DiiDee66 AGREE!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @SuperSaladEaterz The Rammstien version is better IMO

  • I love Depeche Mode. They truly made great hit music that released too early for their time.

  • nice video!

  • I said it before and i am going to say it again : kids, without Depeche Mode there will be NO marilyn manson, rammstein or nine inch nails.

  • Depeche Mode is amazing, I can't believe how ahead of their time they were and how innovative they are and continue to be. I've loved them through my childhood and continue to love them

  • eh rammstein's version sucked... they cut out the part where he says " down to the bone"

  • @ianalexander92 i have to correct you on that one, rammstein has a remix of the song that didnt edit out "down to the bone" its the heavy mental remix check it out

  • @SML11889 yeah... i'm sorry but that also sucked ass. don't get me wrong i love rammstein but in this case..... meh.

  • rifa mas la rola con RAMMSTEIN

  • Don't get me wrong, great song. But he dances like an idiot @2:25... HAHAHAHA

  • My favorite DM song and I dare say their best.

  • 1:03,1:09, 1:13 gotta love the precision, concentration, determination he uses swinging that sledgehammer!

"Where everything's OUUUURS for a few hours"

  • lol

  • my favorite song of all ti me.everything works in this song. train tracks sound , car turning on sound, especially the lyrics, pipes sound. EVERYTHING. great song.

  • Love this song! So epic!

  • Me Gusta Mas Con RammSTEiiN

  • Comment removed

  • i like how he dances. wish guys could dance in the clubs like that

  • @selberverdeckt True, but it's still a fun fact

  • @selberverdeckt Any DM fan should already know that

  • @crazyfox9oh Yeah but they gotta learn it from somewhere...

  • @selberverdeckt who doesn't know?

  • id strip for u dave in a fuckin second ah god ...(orgasm)

  • for YEARS this was my favorite Depeche song.....now, too many to name (:

  • This is amazing.

When I heard the Shiny Toy Guns remake I wanted to cut someone.

  • @HanaSetDool I think Shiny Toy Guns cover was the best cover anyone could ever do!

  • They look like kids. Maybe it's just me, but I find it remarkable that someone who looked as young as Dave at that time could've had such a mature-sounding voice.

  • @jvondd OMG Thats what I think all the time!!! He has such a cute baby face, You just want to pinch his cheeks!! but when you hear him sing, you wanna do something else. lol

  • @jvondd Yeah I have always thought that too. Heck they were even younger back in the early 80s and making great albums during the Speak and Spell/Broken Frame era. Only like 18-20 years old!

  • @jvondd I feel the same way when I see and hear old echo and the bunnymen. Both very excellent bands.

  • Im not black , white, green or purple.... i think that dont fucking matter the color of your skin. we fucking love Depeche Mode.

    And thats all .

  • @SandraCruzDuque I most definitely agree.

  • @SandraCruzDuque Like I said before, it doesn't just sayin, that is all. :)

  • @SandraCruzDuque

To quote the late comedian Mitch Hedberg, " You gotta' draw the line somewhere.. To Hell with purple people! ... unless they are choking, then you should help them..."

I loved this album back in the 80s!!

  • @SandraCruzDuque

Well, I'm orange. And I don't appreciate being left out.

  • Respond to this videoblah...

  • You're all silly. I love covers because they help lead people to the source material! It's great to discover bands through other bands and nice to see what inspires them

  • To me there is nothing like the original with anything in life and no group, artist or band should be allowed to do covers for any of Depeche Mode's Music, It's just "WRONG". in my opinion. Don't change a great thing. DM For Life ;)

  • @valygrl1 A cover honors the greatness of the original work, so I don't see why there should be anything wrong with it. After all, nobody is making you listen to it, and in many cases it exposes the song to other audiences (for example, Aerosmith's "Walk this Way" being covered by Run DMC).

  • @gturner38 Well it's just my opinion and it's just with DM that I really feel that way, I will say that there is a Jazz version of Never Let Me Down that is actually pretty nice but when it comes to DM music, I just want it to be them, can't help the way I feel about that, sorry but I do like the Aerosmith / Run DMC Cover :)

  • Recall this now classic DM hit from the 1980s. Bone chilling and brilliant.

  • Hello Depeche Lovers :) We all know who we like the best

  • Rammstein's version is still better

  • Peter Care is great.

  • this is gonna play at my funeral or i will haunt the earth- lololololol I LOVE IT THAT MUCH !!! hahahah SWEET..

  • @valygrl1: Hi! :) How are you doing? I can certainly relate to you regarding your comment about your race. I am American Asian Indian, and grew up in a Hindu speaking family who also practices Hinduism--and I LUV Depeche Mode as well! Music tastes--especially a band as spiritually, politically, psychologically, culturally, emotionally, and intellectually inclusive and open as Depeche Mode--truly has no racial (or other) boundary. :)

  • Funny how it took my over 25 years to see this video. I have loved the song since it came out.

  • OMG when i saw them a few years back @ the hollywood bowl i was like Mr slave when he saw the jonas bro live "gsus christ" LoL

  • Does Anybody KNow What Type Of Car that is????

  • @yonny1994

the wagon is a peugot i think- and the sedan/saloon is a old rolls, bentley, jag, or rover- im pretty sure-

  • @jaisin17 the car in the beginning of the video?

  • @yonny1994

old old , rover, bentley, rolls royce, maybe a jag but i dont think its a jag- prolly a 1970-1982 model

  • @AnkhFalcon You just can't get enough, you just can't get enough...

  • hey black girl (valygrl1)i love you cuz you love DM. Stay up babygirl

  • I learned about this song from Rammstein's cover, but I love both equally. What a freaking amazing song.

  • It's 2011 and this song still sounds fresh and relevant....timeless. DM is brilliant and always ahead of their time.

  • Fuck Rammstein

  • yeaaaaaahhh

  • @ valygrl1.....thats awesome :D Depeche Mode is my 2nd favorite band, but they are practically tied with Nirvana, my favorite band xD (Even as different as their sound and style is)

  • Rammestein, Shiny Toy Guns, and Depeche have very distinct remakes of this song......and all 3 do it justice. It all boils down to matter of personal tastes, not quality.

  • OMB HE S HAWWWT EPIC SONG ^__^ AND I LOOOOVE BLACK CELEBRATION ALSO

  • shiny toy guns does it better

dont get me wrong i am in love with d . mode

  • been a mode fan since the early 80's,ya ya

  • To everyone complaining about Rammstein, get over it. They're a different style of band. They play german industrial metal. Do you know why they did a cover of this? Because they love this song as much as you or me! Can't we all just enjoy the music? (DM and Rammstein fan)

  • These guys are the Beatles of the 1980's, as far as I'm concerned.

  • Love this track. Emu vintage equipment FTW (Emulators, Emax 1/2).

  • Please, let us not taint DM's original with any mentions of Rammstein-that is such a freakin' creepy band. They sound like they should be doing Saw movie soundtracks. Depeche mode's Stripped has that great 80's synth epic-romance feel to it; a kind of goth romantic nihilism. Dramatic, yet fun music of my childhood.
