Ages ago there was a man who was as good as Puskás in tactics and had the gentle technique like Johan Cruijff.
His name was Matthias Sindelar. He was probably the most infulential player ever because he influenced Puskás. Please read anout him

@jackman1570 I mean Ronaldo de Lima. Ronaldo de Lima is 2nd greatest of all time in my opinion. Eusobio, Cruyff, Beckenbauer are some legends I forgot.There's many more. My apologies.

How can a man destroy both his knees come back and win the world cup and world player of the year. before he damaged his knees he was the best player of the 90's. And ronaldinho? I don't even need to explain. Clearly you have no knowledge of the game.

@kofipat1 Ronaldinho was a symbol of the beauty and joy of the soccer. However his career was quite short and he was "writing the history of soccer" just 3-4 years. 2004-2006, Barcelona.
Whereas R9 was an excellant player and shooter. He played at few world-class clubs and leagues, and he was the best player everywhere he appeared. His number of scored goals is FANTASTIC. Even World cup goals - 15!. Ronaldo was simply one of best players ever (can be compared with Pelé, maybe was better)

Puskas is a legend. Even though pele won 3 WC's I think in a one on one game, Puskas would win. I think Puskas is rotating in his grave when he hears that they give awards out named after him to C. Ronaldo who dives constantly.

Maybe it was just how the game was played at this time, but I really enjoyed how for the majority of his goals he just blasts the ball past the goalie into the top corners of the net. Lethal, lethal goal scorer.

Puskas was one of the greatest football I´ve ever seen! If he would be a football-player in the 70s-80s, than nobody would talk about maradonna or pelé! He is the greatest! There was only one team who was better than one PUSKAS, that was Germany in 1954 in the final against hungary! R.I.P. Puskas

He played in what the ranking say is the greatest ever International team and socred an incredible 84 goals in 85 games. He played in a superb Real and socred 37 goals in 41 European Cup games when past his peak in his 30s. The figures speak for themselves. Every team he ever played in were better than any of its rivals.

you cant really compare players from different times. football is changing, and as well puskas would have troubles to adapt to modern football, as today stars could suck at 50's. dont choose best-player-ever, choose best of his time

Don´t forget that Puskas played in a soccer field without grass technology, extremelly heavy ball, without yellow and red card and with only one cammera never focusing him been attacked by defense players.

He might've been smarter and have had better vision, but technique? Puskas was great in his time, but no one from that era would've stood a chance physically or technically today.
