  • Enjoyed the 1980's version of The Thing.

  • The movie was very good it tells us what really happened before what we saw in the thing 1982, i enjoyed it!

  • I thought it wass well doen and suited the prequel to the original.

  • I thought this was about the hand in the adams family haha

  • This is not a remake, but a prequel ! so this story happend before.

  • GUYS.

I just realized that trailers pretty much spoil the whole fucking movie, what the hell.

I don't even wanna watch this anymore...

The monster kills everyone, the bitch survives and then go back to the city and begin her new life being a whore.

    end of story.

WHATS WRON WITH PEOPLE WHO MAKE FUCKING TRAILERS?

  • Phantoms movie is exactly the same I think

  • it's a good try, but the creature itsself is just rediculous. They should have taken a step in the other direction and actually make it believable... Meh.

  • Friggin awesome film. And the old one is one of my all time favorites. Absolutely worth a watch!! I sat awestruck through the entire film! GOgo watch it!

  • I'm going to have to watch this film I think it looks awesome

  • I was expecting to see the scary ass clown!!!! that would have been nice

  • WTF?! Where is Kurt Russell?!?! I can't take this serious...

  • @NapalmFerret U can if its a prequel about the Norwegian Team who first discovered the Thing, "Hey Sweeden!" lol

  • Ramonaaaaa....

  • 80's film remake? the old one is better i think

  • I saw this movie yesterday :D

Its pretty good, and scary ;D

  • Good film but for those who still remember the 1982 version, it's a case of been there, seen it, done that. Kick ass effects, though the ones in which Kurt Russel was weren't so shabby for its time, either.

  • nigger always dies

  • ma ma always told me if u dont eat ur vegetable the thing will get u

  • so the norwegians become americans? seems like it on this movie....

  • black guy dies first becouse hes only in the beginning of the trailer.... -__-

  • I thought this was about the big Orange guy from Fantastic 4

  • Wow, another movie where they bring a smart person nd the dumb ppl dont listen nd do the exact oppisite Lol :p

  • @tcake95 So Tbhen the Dumb people die and the protagonist survives

  • "In a place where there is nothing... they found something" really? Was that the best the could do? It's just sad.

  • I watched this and it scared the he'll out of me. Then I put it on mute. Wow, it looks really funny without sound. Lol.

  • It's Deeks from NCIS LA

  • Smosh's Ditto? LOL

  • Smoshes version is better.

  • Mary Elizabeth Winstead FTW!

  • my new fav movie. *****

  • I think the Original "The Thing" is much scarier then this...

  • @dakaos123

Which one? 1951's version or 1982's version?

  • Norway FTW♥

  • wheres kurt russel?

  • why are people saying they thought it was about fantastic four, complete idiots, how do you actually think this would be related to f4,

  • actually looks kinda cool...

i mean come on guys the trailer was actually surprisingly interesting and it kept me from watching another video

    just my opinion :/

  • i bet it's gonna suck, but i love the original from Carpenter so much, i have to watch this one too.

  • I like more the trailer from The Ditto!!

  • i hate scary movies because they scare me. i was scared watching this trailer, but some friends want me to go see it with them tomorrow. and i agreed. im guna piss myself and scream like a lil girl. i already know it.

  • @dockwanawk let me know how it goes lol

  • They found ..... ICE

  • Just saw this movie today. I have to admit its pretty good

  • This was a well done prequel to John Carpenter's '82 'The Thing'. They kept alot of continuity intact (watch Carpenter's version, where Russell investigates the Norwegian camp...even minor details like an axe left in a wall are explained in this version).

If you are a fan, stay during the credits for the final 'tie-in' to Carpenter's version. While this is a 'been there done that' story, it's done very well and is a great model for other future 'prequel' movies to follow. In a way it provide

  • @MrNataswon This was more of a remake then it was a prequel. I mean basically it's John Carpenter's 1982 story told all over again, just in different sequence. CGI was used way too much.

  • @MrNataswon

I saw this 4 times and watched 1982's movie afterwards, really filled in the gaps of the 1982 film

  • this movie is alright. i recommend it.

  • "The Thing" ... could they come up with something better :/

  • there is no originality left in the world...lets just repeat the same stories every 20-30 years...lame. Everyone same your money, stop going to the movie theaters and read all the classics...you will discuss the truth I have just shared with you today.

  • @redfoxnz13

1982's movie was NOT the original

  • thought this was fantastic four...thumbs up if you agree

  • Something called the thing? great cant wait

  • SO MANY FUCKING MEMORIES o god awsome classic movie

  • Varg Veum.

  • For anyone that hasn't seen the '82 Thing please, watch it first. It's alot cheaper and chances are it's 10 times better than this prequel/remake.

  • Kurt Russell replaced with a squeaky 20 something woman? Yeah, this remake will suck.

  • @MJBk1988 It dose just saw it not very good at all

  • This movie is a prequel to the first film. I heard that MacReady(Kurt Russell) and Childs(Keith David) will be shown at the end of the movie.

  • Are the top comments really about the bloody fantastic four!? Come on people...

  • @jutheto Honest mistake. I thought it was also

  • another spoiled :

    u fucked

  • americans, stop pronouncing it "ant-artica", its "an-tarctica" ffs

  • @HelterSkelterSOR ...are you joking? Why would it be an-tarctica? Antarctic is the opposite of "Arctic", so it should be "Ant-arctic"... or am I misunderstanding anything?

  • Comment removed

  • @TheRyowyn ive just realised they meant Antártica, the area in Antarctica

  • SPOILER:the game picks of after the ending of the 1982 movie, the game is basically part 2, if you havent played the game 'the thing' the story is all jumbled then. When a unit was sent in to discover what had happened at the station they found the black guys body, russel didnt die. So this has got to be a prequel cause the station was gone after the game. It is russel who saves you at the end.

  • the 1982 movie with russel had a stupid end I hope this one is better idk they all died at the end right? I think that was stupid all in all its and average movie that did not need a remake.

  • @sroRAGE prequel

  • @obenrob oh cool then

  • @icemanlj2k7 whatever you say. :) not a reason for change. go f*ck yourself

  • One thing (no pun intended) thats spoiling this film alittle for me is women bieng in it. Im not sexist, nothing like that, its just thats what made the 80s original so good, oh well I'll still giv it a chance.

  • Its clobbering time! lol

  • Spoiler alert, she dies and two men chase the dog only to die when they get close to killing it.

  • Another spoiler, they all die.

  • This is supposed to be a prequel to the 1982 film

  • Spoiler Alert, It's the dog

  • Is it just me or does the start Scream Alien vs Predator?

  • YEAH!!! finally a prequel of one of the most gruesome and awesome movies of its era!

  • As a Norwegian, I cannot vouch for the jodeling

  • its actually a classic movie about a alien based from the book then remaked in the 80 then now

  • Is it just me or are the people who come up with movie titles getting lazier.

  • and then The Thing come to save them! oppss, wrong movie.

  • Ramona Flowers!!!!

  • Is the 1982 version the one where it bursted out of a womans face??

  • :47 guess the black guy dies first.

  • @Madorem

    racism LOL

  • Who's the actress playing the scientist? I've seen her in a lot movies. She has beautiful brown eyes. :))) The 1982 "The Thing" was enjoyable. It freaked me out, but I wouldn't say it gave me sleepless nights. This new version just might do that. By the way, Hollywood needs to come up with new ideas. Everything is a remake now. :P

  • Thank god the master scientist they flew half way around the world was a 19 year old girl.

  • I watched the 1982 Kurt Russell movie just months ago. It was great ! I hope this re-make/sequel will be greater and WON'T RUIN the original storyline

  • Am I the only one who thinks that they will ruin this movie?

  • I will try to keep an open mind on this female lead actress. The screaming thing alien sound at the 1:54 mark sparked much great horrific memories of the JC 1982 classic. I can only hope that this movie will keep the 82 remake's terrorfying integrity. I'm not a big fan of CGI in horror movies due to the fact that it's painfully obvious in the movie. Regular animatronic effects have a specific look and motion to them being used in the dark that adds to the realism that compliments the movie.

  • Guys I know you'd hate to see this film remade, but I honestly MISS this story that I would like to see it continued. I LOVED the movie, I LOVED the video game, I'd LOVE to see more. It's just too good to lay dormant in the movie world. This was bad ass back in 1982 ffs, wouldnt you want to see it kick ass in 2012? I am getting goosebumps in anticipation. And I secretly wish they find Kurt Russel out there...or Captain America... or Mumble of happy feet....or another Predator temple....

  • VARG VEUM ... FAEN!?

  • ``sees title of the trailer´´ NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

please hollywood dont fuck up this one :(

  • she is sooooooooooo beautifulllllll

  • Can you fuckers please stop saying why why ruin this it is not ruined yet if this sucks then yes come back and spam the shit outta this trailer.

  • I loved the 1982, It had very intense atmosphere. Honestly I think it will suck....why the hell did they put a female in this movie? Does there always have to be one in modern horror movies?

  • The alien who is impersonating one of the team wouldn't understand human behavior and would act strange, or at least seem "off", making it really easy to identify it.

  • Wtf I thought this was some Fantastic Four origin movie for The Thing.

    pfft....

  • @marcusduck Ya IKR --'

  • @marcusduck

The Thing was a movie in the 80's, you ignorant twat.

  • @OniGlalie i wouldn't give a fuck about such old ass shitty movie, you fucking cunt.

    Fuck off.

  • @marcusduck

LOL you know nothin' about movies. Go jack off to your fantastic four then and die.

  • @marcusduck

And I bet you're one of those avatards that think Fast&Furious is the best movie ever.

    Meh, douchebag.

  • @OniGlalie No.

  • @marcusduck Yes.

  • @marcusduck wow i'm sorry for you that you never saw john carpenter's the thing, or that you would think that a stupid cgi superhero movie would be better.

  • @GillesDM1993 he was being funny so fuck off pretentious douchebag

  • I don't mind a good remake but this one looks like it's missing the suspense of the original..

  • Why hollywood, why ruin such a great movie classic by remaking it and changing some facts. Why!? (CRY...SOB). And why is kurt russel's character a girl?

  • Why hollywood, why ruin such a great movie classic by remaking it and changing some facts. Why!? (CRY...SOB)

  • espero que este tan buena como la de 1982 de john carpenter

  • The original 1982 "The Thing" with Kurt Russel was one of my most favorite movies as a kid, my brothers favorite also, I remember how fascinated, but in a weird way, we were with the gore in the movie and all the bizarre events....truly a great horror film of the 80's, I wouldn't mind sitting down to watch it again.

  • I can tell just by watching the trailer that this remake isn't going to be anywhere near as good as the original.

  • Looks awesome!

  • The Thing?? First thought in my mind was Fantastic Four.

  • I read something like this somewhere, it was on the hotmail news so it wasnt something made up. Basically a team went on an expedition set in a snowy place(not sure where). Years after they died or went missing they were found all dead, their tent was torn from the inside as if they were trying to run away from something, one person died as a huge force hit his chest, and there was this woman who died and her tongue was ripped, the most eerie part is, there were no other footsteps besides theirs

  • hollywood is full of lazy pricks -_- is it REALLY that hard to come up with a new plot?

  • Was it just me who thought it was The Thing in Fantastic 4? :D

  • @Maxtherappan Yes

  • its not a remake, its showing what happens at the start to the Norwegian camp. Even though we know the ending i hope it turns out ok.

and lol at the program on the computer showing the cells transforming, i remember the 1980s program haha.

  • reminds me of Ripley :)

  • okay like wtf is going on ? can`t they make a new movie, why are they remaking movies.. are they trying to fuck all the classic movies up.. damn they need new idea` s there in hollywood !

  • @020djcorsa

1982's movie was NOT and NEVER the original Thing film

  • i bet the effects are not as good.

  • The Thing is a peculiar creature

  • Of course as usual, if you want your horror film to be good or interesting... be sure to put the word "The" at the beginning of your title.

  • What happened to Elizabeth?..

She used to be pretty & gorgeous..

    Still I crush her..

  • OMG it's Mary Elizabeth Winstead!! GOTTA WAATCH THIS! :S

  • whaaaaaaaaaaaat?

where's the orange rock guy? :(

  • I remember there is also a pc videogame, based on the original movie!

  • ennio marconi's music creeps me

  • Gentlemen. *Disguise*

  • This reminds me of Alien Vs Predator, lol, seems like a boring movie that everyone already knows the end of, people will die, then somehow one person will stay alive to tell the world, but that person will be the thing and movie will end, shitty

  • Thumbs up if you heard metal gear solid theme at the end of this trailer

  • Two things (hehe): people against people, and mechanical (not digital) effects. These made the original movie what it was. And kurt russell of course. This version most likely sucks balls, but we'll see..

  • KILL IT WITH FIRE!

  • This would have to be the story of the Norwegian colony the Americans discovered in the original. To remake the original so soon makes absolutely no sense.

  • Fine. I'm a dope and a moron with dumb logic. And this is the best movie ever.

  • @zkriski This looks exactly like The Thing (1982). Only difference I see is that the main character is female this time. Looks like they weren't even trying to make something different. Alien was a straight up horror film while Aliens was Epic Horror Action/Adventure. One reason why the Alien series gets so much praise is because each film is so different from the last. Alien, of course, is the best one.

  • @zkriski

I never said it wasn't going to be any good. It just looks like more of the same. I'll still give it a watch.

    And yes, I am dope.

  • Director should be taken into a field and shot.

  • Don't care if it's a prequel. Looks like a retread; nothing new. Future redbox rental for me.

  • Frankly, I´ll wait to see it, but until then my reaction is: what´s the point in remaking something that is VERY well made in 1982 and it´s still a really scary movie. Like said above, I hope they don´t ruin it.

It´s probably going to be filled with CG overdone monsters and end up a crappy movie like Aliens ressurection, abusing of the images of aliens everywhere and just showing too much growling and crap with a crappy story "just because".

It´s like trying to remake "The Blob".

  • @LudeMoovie

Have you ever seen the 1951 Thing from Another world movie? the original Thing film, 1982's movie was a remake but actually a faithful re-adaptation of Who Goes There by John Campbell

  • @Johnlindsey289 Yes, I saw it, when I was younger, I think making a remake is always a difficult thing, especially if the previous movie asre really well made, like the 1982 version is.

Have to wait and see, but from the trailer... Don´t know, they might ruin it like they ruined the Alien movies with the 3rd and 4th movies (especially the 4th one... pure crap).

  • the kurt russell movie was epicly scary and funny

  • Comment removed

  • @zkriski uhuya....fuckin dumb ass!

  • ripoff

  • You guys gonna listen to Garry? You gonna let him give the orders? I mean, he could BE one of those things!

  • Interesting...

  • i hope it s good for the sake of the original one

  • this looks fuckin crazy ! gonna watch it !

  • LOL Eric Christian Olsen aka Marty Deeks from NCIS:LA

  • the film of 1982 was awsome with kurt russell

i hope this prequel or remake or whatever

    dont ruin that great movie!

  • @jopalaz5 I totally agree, I thought the exact same thing.

  • @jopalaz5 The 1982 version was a great movie..it was also a remake as well.

  • @mooneepondskid

Actually 1982's movie was a faithful re-adaptation of John Campbell's novella "Who Goes There" which inspired 1951's movie and remains THE quintessential faithful adaptation

  • @jopalaz5 totally agree with u

  • @jopalaz5 The Thing from Another World is also pretty great.

  • @jopalaz5 i its a preque cause this is what happend before 1982 movie and ye i also hope they dont ruin it

  • @jopalaz5 prequel

  • @zkriski Well thanks for the info chester.
