The Wind will boot a little bit faster if you turn on Turbo Mode during boot (Fn + F10)...just remember that Turbo Mode only works when the Wind is plugged in. Otherwise, you're underclocking it to give it less power so that it uses up less battery power.

Unfortunately, T.M. freezes my netbook after 2 or 3 minutes of it being on, haven't heard of anyone else with this problem.....might need to update the BIOS.

Yes you can. Turbo mode can only be used WHILE plugged in. If you try to use it when it's not, it underclocks instead of overclocks (hense the term used: "Eco Mode".

So when plugged in, Fn+F10=overclocked (turbo mode)

When NOT plugged in, Fn+F10=underclock (eco mode)

You must not have had your Wind for very long. I've had my Wind since April, I know this.

primero: comparar las 2 maquinas me parece una estupidez, tengo una msi u100 con xp y inclusive la acellerè aùn mas overclock y perfecta configuracion de windows para maximizar rendimiento,

segundo: es mejor que sea portable, mas liviana las 10.1 pulg estan correctas y teclado tambien y el precio, qu eno tengo dvd rw no interesa depende del uso para lo que se la quiera, conosco ente que tiene notebook poderosas de 17 pulgadas y tambien tienen una msi u100.

Well, they might boot up at the same speed, but the Wind'll probably run faster. The Air gets points for its dual-core processor, but the 4200 RPM PATA hard drive cripples it. MBP FTW!

The Macbook Air is still better. I'm looking into a MSI netbook to run OS X on but the Air still has a full size keyboard, backlit keys, complete functionality and no voided warranty for tampering with it to get it to load OS X.  Not to mention it's screen looks huge compared to the Wind. However, if you start up the Air cold, it takes a little longer to start. If he shutdown, let it sit 2min and then turned it on again it would be faster the 2nd time. Boot time doesn't show which is better.

I have OSX on my MSI Wind and I can tell you. It does NOT void your warrenty... You do not need to screw your MSI Wind open or something like that... Just installing drivers is enough. + MSI Wind DOES hace a full size keyboard. The only difference between them is that all the key's with special characters are very small.

And yes the screen of the Macbook is bigger. So what? You buy a Netbook for it's small size right? ;-) And yes you're right about the backlit keys... I want those too!!

Last I checked my OSX86.iso (for the Wind) doesn't support the WiFi card on the Wind. You have to get the dell WiFi card off ebay to make it work. The keys are smaller and squished together (not full size) but it's still good!

Yes that was until the WiFi manufacturer created the drivers for the Wind. You can use the WiFi out of the box. Everything works in my Wind except for the microphone(but I don't really need that) and Airport capability's since the builtin WiFi card does'nt support Aiport. So if you would REALLY want Airport you need a Dell WiFi card off ebay indeed ;-)
