lol Yeah... but there is a reason for that... A monster PC is just a monster PC and you won't go far making music with a gaming machine... I do agree the Euphonix stuff is pretty expensive, unless you're lucky enough to get a contract that justify buying this (otherwise I never would have).
Finally !! A weighted Jog wheel !!! and with proper transport
functions - all assignable !!
I have long waited for jog that can edit like a Fairlight system. It is well worth $400 and all those who thing its too expensive and think they can do everything with their keyboard/mouse have obviously never worked on a Fairlight and know of its glorious editing functionality !!
ummm... seems it does more than a mouse and keyboard... and a lot faster. It is about Human Interface and Interact ing with the softwares ability.... I prefer turning knobs over using my mouse.
this is a good product but hyper expensive! i'd much rather use the Alesis Master Control....it has all of this (except touchscreen) and more for a lot less.
Alesis has really vamped up its quality and from ADAT to Andromeda, they are far more innovative than Euphonix.
Its conveters are pristine and better than RME (114db vs 109db)...
That's the way the world works my friend. Manufacturers make products, sell them at extremely high prices and expect you to be able to get however much they charge for the product. Life sucks and then you die.
I've written for Mix Magazine (which is probably the biggest engineering magazine in the world) regarding much bigger Euphonix controller/inline hybrids, so I think I know a lot about them!
I bought the Mc Mix and Transport about a month ago, at first I was a bit overwhelm by the expense but within 2 weeks I ended up using it every day. So yeah I agree, it becomes essential to someone who do serious sequencer work. I'm never going back to mouse-dots automation, the feeling and precision of the faders on the Mc Mix is just too amazing.
too bad the Steindberg MC license sets yoiu back the price of an extra controller.
If steindberg (or Euphonix) would find a solution for this I would definately buy the MC Control, now its just too much money for just the software support

It just looks way too complicated. I want simplicity. The screen looks small. I would prefer a more basic layout.

Except it's for use in professional applications, not Garage Band and iMovie....

and it IS simple

iPhone is simple. That's what I want for an interface, or something with that kind of genius. I think I'll be waiting a long time.
Kill2Smile 2 years ago
Have you actually used Final Cut Pro? It's not simple, so don't expect a simple controller.

Einstein: "Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler."
Kill2Smile 2 years ago
Yes... the two key words there are 'as possible'. Really, if you know FCP at all you'll know that the MC Control and Transport are simple to use.

And do you use the MC Controller on a day to day basis like I do? If you did you'd see that it really does work wonderfully so stfu.
