It's almost strange to hear that other people listened to and love this song, too. I feel selfish. I'm 49. Never forgot that time, just can't remember his name.
this was when music had meaning. I was just a kid when this came out, but the first time I heard it, i fell in love with it. an to this day, it is still one of my favorite songs. thanks you tube, prolly would have never gotten this song, an thanks to the person that uploaded it, you have given me some great memories back.
@mick6411 Thank you very much for your great comment !! I was just a kid too when this song came out, and no matter how many times I listen to it I still get that feeling "way deep down inside".
absolute classic. nobody will ever remake this song as good as the original. Words are so true about a lost love. I know. I have been there. Will never forget her. I loved her and she loved me. She loved her addiction more. Broke my heart but for my own sanity i had to let her go. Still think about her and the big WHAT IF !
32 years later and I will never forget Her, never. I was too stupid to hang on to her in this Life, but next time around maybe I might get another chance.....Love you Forever, Colleen.
some of the video reminds me of my book "Paradise MIne" by Ronna Gage
High School lovers who lost one another. She thought he was MIA in Iraq and then told he'd died. He was told she didn't love him anymore. Years later, they find one another. The reunion is anything but happy at first. When they face the past and learn the truth, will they find love once again? Find out the answer.
A smooth, crisp and warm voice that sings for all of us......god, I miss this music and the times it represented.....more so now that he is gone. Thank you Mr. Davis.
I grew up in the 90s. I was deathly afraid of the dark. To help my fear, mum put the radio on, but the modern channels were too bouncy, too loud or too scary for me. So she put on the Easy Listening station, and it would play while I slept. There were nights when I'd have dreams that involved these songs. To this day, I love creating films and writing scripts. I think the influence of these wonderful songs helped me develop strong mental imagery.
I remember when this song came out, my teenage heart was broke, and this gave me hope. Now at almost 46, this song brings back good memories, of love and hope.
when i look in your eyes i go crazy! i still go crazy! ...i can look at a pic and i get da loue chanal i see him move and smile....whears my baby! thaers noyhing i want in this worl no one will do!
I love this song, what not to like? I remember this from my teens, I can trasport through time with this one! RIP Paul Davis. I always have loved this song from the first time I heard it!
I remember I was quite young when this was first released in the 70s...like 5 years old, I remember being haunted by this song's somewhat ominous tone much like 10cc's "Im not in love" which also had a haunting sound to it...later on I grew to appreciate both songs greatly. Now that Im 38 I look back on those years fondly -
This song came out when I was in the 7th grade. There was this one girl I sort of had a crush on and I thought of her everytime I heard this song back then. It certainly brings back tons of memories for me and that great era! Fantastic video!
@340rps - Tears at my heart too!!!! A love that was strong, but never quite made it to the place we both wanted to be - Now after many years we are trying to re-connect.

Why does he go crazy? Is he schizophrenic? Does he have an acute case of neurosis?

I couldn't sing this song.
I saw a girl was dancing with her new boyfriend on the floor and I played my bass at that time.
In 1982 I was 18 and I loved that girl even we'd broken up.
