elvis in 69 and 70...omg...i have many friends that not especially like elvis, but when they see and hear him frim this period they go wooow...hmmm he was actually eh..brilliant....i mean he was absolutely outstanding. I have a book with many media clips and newspaper articles from his "comeback" in 69, and the way the write is truly amazing.I knew that must have been some show from another planet!! elvis forever in our heart friends..

Im baffled at the 68 special photos as Elvis is not in leather,were they from rehearsals? I have some C.D {sound only} of dressing room rehearsals but this looks as if it were on stage.

Yes, I spotted that too...I am also left baffled. As you said there were dressing room jams (which gave Steve Binder the idea to do the "impromtu show") but that photo which I've seen before somewhere was clearly taken from the audence level of the stage and there he is without his black suit! baffling indeed.

Can only guess they did some kind of 'run-thru' before dressing & before the audience came in and the cameras were rolling.

That's what I thought but probably just a one off photo,would be great to find out the cameras were rolling or even the sound.There is a side ways view on the F.T.D "Let yourself go " C.D with the same blue shirt on and i've seen dressing room rehearsal photos.Thanks for replying.

That is the missing show. They all say there is no footage, but this is a lie! I saw for myselfe in 1979, a very small clip elvis singing like in the sit down show, but he is wearing jeans, which means it was actually filmed, i don´t know how much, but a least a couple of songs or so. I wonder when they will come up with it and what the excuse is, that they held it back all those years. I hate the politics of Elvis Presley Estate, over 30 years of his death and still tons of unreleased stuff.

Peter197136 thanks for replying, please could you tell me more of where you saw the footage from the special where Elvis was in jeans,obviously if you have seen it then it exists.Also 100 new photos of Elvis at Madison square Gardens have been discovered and will be shown at an exhibition at Graceland,some may even be backstage.

It is indeed very very hard to find but not impossible...I am truly blessed to have about 5 minutes of great footage from the 68 Comeback Special when Elvis is in Jeans...I went around the world to find that footage, but to me it's worth more than gold! :)

I have the jean footage where he is on the safa with Andy Williams singing Downtown in the background,what I ment was him in jeans singing while rehearsing sitting on stools as he did in the special,do you have that?If so what is he singing/

There is about a minute and a half of an instrumental of "Danny Boy", then I have all of them talking a bit, then "When my blue moon turns to gold again" for about a minute and ten seconds, then "Blue Moon of Kentucky" for about 2 minutes or so...

No it's not the safa with Andy Williams bit, it's something I had never seen before anywhere else...Hope this helps...

Yes I know the parts you are refering to I have them on audio along with quite a few other songs they were done in the dressing room before the show they are available on the FTD label of the 68 special.What I have never seen is footage

Elvis was so good looking. with his coloring the dark hair and blue eyes he just reminds me of a male Elizabeth Taylor.They both had the same beauty.I dont think there is an actor out there who can come up to Elvis's looks and I am including George Clooney and Brad Pitt.
