  • So...my cat is dead, my microwave is broken, I think i've been poisoned by toxic fumes and I STILL have no power cells =\ maybe I should have put the power cell battery thingamajigger in the microwave BEFORE the cat...that makes a little more sense...

  • they're called power cells? sweet! I'm now 4% more hipster.

  • what happens to just rubbing the batteries, or blowing into the controller slot when the controller inst working. i miss my Sega :'''(

  • "Besides, your kids will love it when their toys start speaking in slow motion."

    I'm in pain.

  • @TheLegendaryDreamer2 hopefully from laughter!

  • Only the little cells are not batteries. Most everything else we call "batteries" are in fact batteries such as car batteries.

  • if you don't actually own a cat then what's in the dishwasher?

  • That's what I do! The batteries that 'die' in the camera I shove into the remote and they last for weeks!

  • You want savings? Go to Giant Tiger and by packs of 48 batteries for 5 bucks.

  • We keep our batteries in the refrigerator. This a bad thing? Probably not, since it's for storage. . . .

  • @Arkatox I don't think he's saying not to do it, just not to use the refrigerated batteries RIGHT AWAY.

  • Thats it i'm calling the RSPCA, wait you don't own a cat, damn, this is just like last time i called the RSPCA and found out the person never had a cat, DAMN YOU SCHRODINGER.

  • I remember having a toy like that.

one day they switched the batteries for something else.

    I had nightmares for years.

  • Ever thought of getting a rechargeable battery I use that

  • woah woah woah your boat...

  • 1:19-1:26 lol

  • You explained how it was, in fact, a battery, then immediately after said that it wasn't technically.

  • 2:53 made me laugh while I was yawning and nearly split my lip :L

  • I love this video, many mentions of `cats` AND `microwaves` in the same sentence

  • Well, why not a Joule Thief?

  • you should consider getting a cat ^_^

  • So in fact I've never bought batteries; just a battery, of power cells. Unless of course you count the fact I've bought several batteries, of power cells.

  • or rechargeable battery?

  • @WhatYouOughtToKnow Actually, the battery doesn't completely run out because the device needs that last bit of charge left in the battery to light up the screen to tell you the charge is too low. I don't like batteries because they can run out on you anytime while you get so into using the device the battery is operating, and if it's something important you're doing and the battery suddenly dies, cuts you off, and screws your whole unsaved system up...That's a big piss-off.

  • @WhatYouOughtToKnow PART 2 (I ran out of characters): And "just buy more batteries" is NOT the answer because that's a waste of Earth supply and money while you can just use the outlet or whatever constantly charges your device. I understand some devices only run on batteries, and for those, buy more than one set of batteries at a time so you can immediately just change the dead dose of batteries you used for another one instead of "waiting until my parents finally go to the fucking store."

  • @WhatYouOughtToKnow PART 3 (I ran out of characters again): Even so, the cut-off issue where you've already gotten far in an important thing you're working on, on the computer or whatever electronic device, and the "dead battery" cuts you off before you can save it, is still risky. So, I hate chancing that, and "waiting 'till we go to the store." FUCK THAT!!! I prefer outlet or whatever constantly charges devices.

  • Your ears are pointy...er than I remember.

  • i wish my camera light up and told me im handsome. i envy you...

  • power cell sounds cooler

  • actually, the "battery" (at least the alkaline ones) is a stack (or battery) of metals in a salicilate solution. Surely everyone knows that from high-school chemistry? So, it is not grammatically incorrect to label it a "battery", even if it is only one "power cell", the "power cell" in fact is made up of lots of smaller power cells. An interesting fact is that each cylinder of these produces only about 1.5V. Larger batteries (such as 9V ones) are made of 6 cylinders of power cells.

  • His videos pretty cool!

  • Yeah poor batteries they work all day then.die what a life of a battery

  • batterys have it bad they're either working or dead

  • "the screen lights up and tells you, Youre handsome"

Fuck yeah, i want that camera.

  • when my batteries on my gameboy ran out i put them in hot water and it worked lol

  • I love it! makes me laugh every time! keep it up...

  • WOW, BATTERY SPECIFICATIONS!?

Can't wait to read that shit.

  • dude you have prefect hair in every vid Amazing!

  • An interesting tidbit is that while chilling or freezing alkaline batteries won't drastically increase their shelf life, it works wonders on rechargable batteries which can drain in less than a month at room temperature.

  • tsk tsk! poor cat :P

  • lol thats the funniest thing

  • We took more that a few moments to do our research. Some of the links are in the video description. Read and enjoy.

    Glad you like the show.

  • @skwiggs101

You are a douchehole trying to sound clever. The show was more than informative regarding batteries. Your just an anal little twat. Please hang yourself and liberate the oxygen you trap inside your useless little body.

  • ARRRRGGGG row row row your boat? Too fun. Yes you will be on Oprah in no time!

  • "too much heat and humidity will cause them to leek fluids". " the same is true for your cat..." LOL

  • or you can thrw them at people near you XD

  • He deserves to be a partner with Youtube : )

  • lmfao not that your cat ever did work. lololololol

  • the information is good.. but his comments irritate me because there are too many comments...

  • They last longer cos the acid don't react as much at lower temperature.... Aaah... Nerd. Love your vids.

  • That's what I've always been doing with batteries. Once they wont work for my gameboy I switch it with the TV remote's batteries.

  • LOL YOUR SSOOO FUNNY

  • You guys deserve more viewers. I shall Entensity this!

  • ill go take the cell out the tv remote

  • NERD FACT

  • "actually a cat drawer might not be such a bad idea" Amazing!!

    And do you know everything?

  • Common batteries are actually clusters of smaller cells, so yes, technically, they ARE batteries. Open them up with some pliers and find out.

Now watch "batteries" are actually cells. But the demonstration was completely incorrect.

  • well actually the battery IS a battery of cells because it has what, 6-9 cells so a cluster of cells are actually a batteries of cells or a battery for short but good guess ^^

8D good day to you all!!

  • i heard that if you stick the batteries up your butt....ah thats another episode I guess....

  • Well informative video.

    Poor cat, but still entertaining.

  • I tought the cat joke got too repetitive, but the meows in the end made up for it. 2 Very informative video, actually! I too had read that by butting your battery in the fridge it would gain a few minutes.

  • lol

  • putting them in series will add up their voltage and in parallel for some extra current.

  • Another useful video. Thanks. I'll go and take my CELL out of the fridge.

  • Cat Drawer FTW!!

  • Why can't everything work like my flash light with a power regulator and a dc-dc converter.

  • LOL funniest part(s) of the show:

looks like the wash cycle is finished

the screen lights up and tells you, you're handsome

    LOL

  • I wonder if this goes for lithium batteries, that fabulous device that powers digital slrs. Yay. ;-D

  • You should never be allowed to own a cat. Or a dog. Or any living creature for that matter....that includes kids.

  • Good, informative video as always =)

BTW I caught the "Is it a good idea to microwave this" reference. lolz!

  • My first impression of this vid is: Holy Crap! Batman is on youtube and has his own show! But then I realize he is not Christian Bale...

    Very fun vid thou...

  • :) hahahaha

    "A cat drawer"

    mmmm

    I might build one...

wait!! I have no cat. Oh, what the heck! Let's do it!

  • AWESOME!

    FAVORITE!

  • Poor cat.

  • haha i was watching this while drinking tea and then you said the part about the batteries leaking in the heat and how thats true for cats too, and i ended up spiting my tea out from laughing!

  • Was that camera guy making cat noises?

  • nice vid :) why arent you a partner

  • Lol, that last line, priceless! Awesome show guys, keep up the great work.

  • HAHA DIE KITTY DIE!!!!!!!

lol im jking. but 1 time i did throw a cat into a ceiling fan...

    IT WAS AN ACCIDENT!

    i was like 5...

  • LOL! I switched to rechargeables a while back- though they are a pain because the charge drops quickly, so for my camera I have to predict when I'm going to be using it a lot, so I can charge a bunch right before- they don't last too long either, so you need a lot of them if you're going to be taking a lot of pictures! But as much a pain as it is, they've really paid for themselves many times over!

And I do the same thing, using the weak ones for remotes & other low power things!

  • Oh so thats why in Schematics this: __

    ____

    is known as a "cell"

    Thanks!

  • Aww, poor kittycat.

Nice battery tips though. Never knew these things.

  • yup, and its what you ought to know! heh heh...get it?

  • Always good. Always useful. Epic Winn!

  • haha i was the first one to say first!!

  • Fail!

  • oh god, I started watching all your videos a few days ago, and the cat drawer almost killed me xD

    pure genius

  • Excellent.
