1. There is no scientific evidence that "Scientology works". No independent studies that prove this. Therefore, like psychiatry, there is no proof that it works. Anecdotal evidence, "I felt an immediate expansion of my space" , for example, could be explained as nothing more than the power of suggestion. As we can see, clears still get colds, get sick, etc etc.

the independent scientologists dont follow all the policies. no disconnection, no sec checs, no need to be certified clear before you start the OT levels, no fixed donations. Also they are not limited to use only the newest e-meters, any old e-meter will do. and no filing of knowledge reports. giving services to people that are declared supressive is also against the tech, but they do it anyway.
you could sum it up by saying these independents really are independent.
