@lovelyme0520 Well I'll offer you this bit: curls get looser the longer your hair gets. As you can see my hair is nearly tailbone length compared to that of my other videos. And I've been flatironing the same way all along and no damage to my hair!
@optimistichumblelady thanks honey! Remember you can straighten your hair as much as you'd like and it will stay straight as long as you don't get it wet..personally I'm not a fan of overuse of heat. I only flat iron about two or three times a year. Crisco or not you can still damage your curls if you flat iron too much.

A looooong time ago, black women used shortening to straighten their hair or the daughters hair, especially when they didnt want to use lye to process it. It gave great shine too. How long did it last?
i had a great result using a mix of silk amino acids, grapeseed oil and coconut oil... THis is making me go hmmmmm min a big way!! I think I will try this out at my next flat-iron session (4-6 mo from now)

Your hair is simply amazing! I too saw the video of the woman flat ironing her daughter's hair and gave it some thought. Also, I used crisco for a wash and go a while back, but have never tried flat ironing my hair with it. Now after seeing your results, I am definitely going to give it a try the next time I flat iron.
Oh and with shea butter my hair doesn't revert for some reason. Does the crisco keep your hair straight? Like you know you can't really take hot ass showers when you flat iron but that shea butter keeps it straight.

GURL!!!!! that is freakin beautiful!!! I use crisco as a leave in.. but now.. on to the flat iron!!!!! i mix orange oil in my criso for a light scent because it has no scent!!

I never thought about using that! Because I don't flat iron that much my hair doesn't straighten out well. I need to get some good straightening products and I will have to use this!

@richeau i used the crisco on my hair. it turned out amazing! however, i did find it a tad bit heavy and i didnt get the 'bounce'. maybe i used to much? i have thin hair strands but dense hair...are ur hair strands thick?

Your hair is simply amazing! I too saw the video of the woman flat ironing her daughter's hair and gave it some thought. Also, I used crisco for a wash and go a while back, but have never tried flat ironing my hair with it. Now after seeing your results, I am definitely going to give it a try the next time I flat iron.

Oh and with shea butter my hair doesn't revert for some reason. Does the crisco keep your hair straight? Like you know you can't really take hot ass showers when you flat iron but that shea butter keeps it straight.

@wowoverflow I've been using it every wash day, I use whatever leave in and put the castor oil on top from root to tip and then twist.

I alway mix my castor oil ih the kbb jojoba oil and hat helps with the smell. I wonder if you can infuse castor oil?

Looks good! This reminds me of when I was a teen and they first came out with the spray Pam. I was babysitting and tried some in my hair with bad results. LOL I'm glad this worked for you.
