@Greatmk In the early 90s after John left the band, he went through a really tough time. He was a hardcore heroin junkie. He almost died. When he came out the other side he just had changed a lot. He had to have all his teeth replaced, which changed the way he talked, pretty sure he nose was restructured. They just fucked him up real bad. If you click on the video to the right "John Frusciante Interview VPRO 1994", you'll see. It's really sad.
