  • Colin this is MY favourite song out of bonnie Scotland, I miss Scotland I use to visit many times I went to the Sheltand isles to see the school where our " Dreaver " family was said to have attended there.

    Thank you

    Colin ( yes I am a Colin too )

    Raul ...

  • Thanks Raul!!

  • That is a very bonnie tune Colin .I pictured a man longing to get back to his native land stuck somewhere far over seas. I was struming and picking along on my guitar getting carried away in the emotion of the tune. First class my friend. Its a better tune than Dougies Caledonia if you ask me and the STB used that for a while in their ads. I will have a go at some words over the next few days, Thanks for sharing and asking. Dave

  • That's great Dave! Cheers -Colin

  • Ahhh, Colin, this is a piece of music which absolutely reveals its title to you without needing to glance at the written word! You truly have given us a musical snapshot of your world -- your environ, your culture, and your soul: a trifecta of grace and pride and beauty!

Enchanted in South Florida, yours, ~Terry

  • So glad you are enchanted , Terry! I love your phrase 'musical snapshot of your world' -it captures exactly what I was thinking & feeling when I wrote this piece!

    Thankyou!

  • The Scottish Board of Tourism should know of this piece! I would definitely imagine that this theme, which so perfectly evokes your country, could be used to a great benefit somehow. A native son as composer -- who could ask for anything more! Or perhaps you'll do an entire Celtic album! That would be awesome!

Here's tae the heath, the hill and the heather,

The bonnet, the plaid, the kilt and the feather.

    Cheers, ~Terry

  • Well, at the least, the S.T.B. might hire me to educate the tourists about our haggis -and the MUTANT haggis, of course!

Your Scots verse is perfectly pronounced!-Colin

  • Colin, you're masterful at laying a 'kilt trip' on someone!

Blameless, not shameless, in Boca! : )

I'm dying for The Bartons to hear this beauty!

  • What a way to start MY day, too! Colin, this is so beautiful. So gentle, melancholic and delicate... and in the same time so clear and strong... must be the highland-character... :) thank you for sharing, dear Colin! 5* from me!

    Lilly

  • Dear Lilly Such a nice comment! Thank you so much! x
