  • The REAL Smashing Pumpkins. The band isn't bad these days but nothing beats the original. I believe Billy should have changed the name since he "reformed" the band with the others not being original members but I bet he kept the name because the name holds a lot of magic and could help sales.

  • The Smashing Pumpkins only have a few god albums Gish Siamese Dream. Pisces Iscariot. Melancholy And The Infinite Sadness. Adore. Machina / The Machines Of God. Machina2 / The Friends And Enemies Of Modern Music. Rarities And B-Sides. Rotten Apples And Judas O. Zeitgeist. American Gothic. Teargarden By Kaleidescope.
  • Can you say Rock and Roll ??? This defines rock. Awesome!!!!!!!!!!

  • what is the line after "time is right for a guiding light" ?

  • @dabeastyiro "try to turn to reasons in your bitter life"

  • This sounds more like classic heavy metal than alternative. Cool.

  • the pumpkins are possibly the most underrated rock and roll band ever. their first 3 albums are incredible. That being Gish, Siamese Dream, and Mellon Collie.

  • If seen em on the Gish Tour in 1991 in Germany, in Düsseldorf in Tor 3 I think!!!

    Awesome!!!!

  • some day this band needs to be in the rock and roll hall of fame. best band of the 90s.

  • LOVE THIS ALBUM!!!! ALONGH WITH INFINTE SADDNESS

  • I just have to say, The Pumpkins are by far the greatest band on this Earth and STILL are. Teargarden and Zeitgeist kicked major ass. I love everything that man releases. I do miss Chamberlin, though. But, that night mare will ride on, regardless! (haha line drop, I know)

  • @33MellonCollie Teargarden is STILL kicking ass. Like 70 songs left to go lol I can't wait. 'Tis a shame it's not CD version anymore.

  • The drumming on this song fn ROCKS !

  • Back when SP was a good band...

  • @ContraCommando Back when SP was a good band... Billy was hot, D'Arcy and James were a cute couple (IMO)... I wish I was born at least EARLIER than 1998! Auuuggghhh!! :(

  • @ContraCommando Stop it, they still rock just look at "As Rome Burns," "Tom Tom," "My love Is Winter." Gish and Tear Garden are in many ways alike if you think about the dreamy sound of songs like Rhinoceros and Song For A son. In fact play Space Boy and Song For A Son back to back and you will make a weird connection.

  • @nicholsjoshua15 Wanna know another weird SP song connection? Listen to Try, Try, Try and then Perfect back to back, it'll trip you out dude. From one fan to another.

  • oooohhhhh yyyeeeeaaaaaaa!!!!!!

  • Cant stand the shit that is being called music today. I wish there was a station where it just played Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, Stone Temple Pilots, AIC, The chilli peppers, and basically anything thats GOOD music. Cant wait for this decade of shitty music to be done!!

  • @ericmeloman85 i know what you mean...but there are shitloads of great bands around, just dont look to top radio to find them!

  • @ericmeloman85 there is a station, it is called an I pod, my friend, and you can hear all the bands that are the enlightnment to your soul...cool beans

  • @ericmeloman85 Unfortunately what will replace it will probably be dance music.

  • wowowow yankeesarethebest just becasue you dont like a band dosent mean there not good every band (expect for a few) work extremely hard to get were they are

  • y was i born so late!!!!!!!! never get to see the pumpkins in their peak :(

  • The bass in this song(and ALL the songs off of Gish) rock my MIND!

  • @123321eye The bass on that album Rocks my mind too, you just wanna listen to songs over and over again ..

  • Corgan w/ Hair is better than Corgan without hair

  • I love music from the 90's and everything. Among them would be the Smashing Pumpkins. I also do not believe that all nowdays music is horrible, though it is true not all of it is as good.

  • Saw the Pumpkins live for the 1st time at a local club in South Beach called Washington Square in 1990 something. Club was about 800 sq ft. Packed!! Bartenders sprayed cool water on us as we moshed (everyone in the club was moshing). I had my hands all over this cute blonde from out of town (I think) and I stold Darcys Heineken bottle from stage. Still remember the look Darcy gave me as I walked away with her drink. Sorry! LOL

  • @KnowThyself7 ....I was at that same show in Washington Square! Awesome stuff! Pumpkins rocked!

  • @GaryLyons No way, that is awesome!! You must have seen me with that chick. LOL. Chaninsaw Kittens were the worst opening band. No one moved. LOL. That is great that you were there!! I got my Mission to Mars t-shirt at that concert.

  • i wish i could have seen them in concert

  • well if you love this check out a band from the 90s dancing linda(lost in my head) more on myspace it rocks

  • this is my favorite band of all time and i adore billy corgan i have been a devoted fan since gish, but i also realize that every generation says the same about the next and great music is eventually lost and forgotten with time..... this makes me cry every time i think it :(

  • wtf happened people just play bullshit these days has america forgotten what music is? because it is not this yo yo yo hip hop shit. this makes me wonder.if it were not for my sis listening to stuff like this when i was small and me hanging out with here and hearing this id probably end up not knowing what music is. so id like to thank my sis ,smashing pumpkins, radiohead, tool, nirvana and some others.god where have times gone?i was born in 93 and im glad because the 90's was the shit. fuck yeah!!

  • Fuck Yeah PROCLAIM THA' SHIT!!

  • @revengnever absolutely my friend A A

    (。◕‿‿◕。)

  • @CCTXGABE wow your so right man i wished music was like this still but its all shit nowman i wished i was a teen in the 90s but im one now :(

  • damn nice mindset you got there i was born in 93 too : )

  • @emosk8terdies thnx allot.

  • @CCTXGABE Form a band and do somthing about it. 92' and that's my goal.

  • i was born in 93 to and i recently got bigger into the smashing pumpkins 8 months ago and now i know half of their songs i started listeining to them because of Buleet with butterfly wings a few years ago i heard BWBW

  • great to here. one of thier first songs i remember hearing was adore and appel+ oranjes.i started liking the band after hangin with my big sis whom i looked up to at an early age and im completetly greatful that i know what music is ,was, and will allways be.

  • the drums on gish are amazing.. forget having a corgasim.... this is a chamberlasm...(thats terrible i know).. but u get the point

  • I agree 110 % !!

  • @yankeesarethebest224 The drummer of Smashing Pumpkins is off the hook! he Can't be CHAMBED (that sucked, i know)

  • This is almost totally different than all the rest of there albums haha what happened? I mean there still bad ass.

  • Most people don't care about quality, only about quantity and what they can dance and tap their feet to in a club, regardless of talent.

  • You are so very right! "gish" is unforgettable, and should never be overlooked by these "mainstream" morons who only appreciate the fad of the time and not the brilliance of extraordinarily gifted minds..........

  • without a doubt yes.

  • The early Smashing Pumpkins sound is beyond "grunge", its timeless. They created their own rock genre which is what all the great bands do. Gish was supreme and Siamese Dream played out like an extension of Gish. Then the band lost the hunger...at least in my opinion. Jimmy Chamberlin is the shit!

  • this is godly :D

  • Oh man I'm not even a kid of the nineties (I caught the tale end of it) and I can't believe this stuff used to be mainstream! Rock is absolutely garbage now, not to mention the rest of popular music...like there's not even a promising young backlash that's gonna take over the radio again, there's nothing of the sort! Anything you could put on college rock for example SUCKS

  • same here born 95 and i love the pumpkins i mean im mostly into classic rock but the pumpkins are awsome i cant imagine life where this was mainstream everything now sucks

  • 95 muahahahaha young buck. That was the year mellon collie came out and it was huge. I was 13, took a week of begging before my mom bought me the album hahahahah.

  • haha, an entire week i could'nt wait that long

  • Haha, had no choice. 13 year olds don't have jobs.

  • gaht damn, I miss the freedom of the grunge era

    everything is so uniform now

  • amen

  • Yeah, I'm so sick of shit on the radio these days.... it's all garbage...

I can't stand shit like the Jonas Brothers, Lil Wayne, Katy Perry, and Fall Out Boy. =X

  • No joke. My feeling the same. I miss the 90's. I guess that means I 'm an old fuck.... 1991 living in Seattle Wa. What great times!!!

  • yeah dood, the 90s were the shit

  • no doubt i dont even listen to the radio anymore.. i just pop the ipod in.. cant flip that shit on with out hearing some lame fall out boy.. talentless.. computer generated.. bullshit these days.. its awful that music came to this.. if u can even still call it music..

  • Yea but our parents were saying the samething about our music so it's all relative.

  • yeah but music is really in bad state these days.. like no instruments just computer generated bs is so fucking dumb.. like rap.. just beats.. there is no music in it.

  • Sounds like your describing adore almost, just not rap.

  • @yankeesarethebest224

And that stupid band "forever the sickest kids"

Also a computer generated piece of chicken shit bullshit.

  • @yankeesarethebest224

Amen, it's all noisic these days.

  • @yankeesarethebest224 could't agree more ;)

  • @yankeesarethebest224 Keep in mind that some 90s alternative bands used computer generated sounds. Half of Radiohead's OK Computer and Kid A were computer generated.

  • @Brian93TM smashing pumpkins did it on Adore in 1998

  • @ProblemChild0899 That is right. Even his beloved Pumpkins did it. So, fail dude.

  • @yankeesarethebest224 if it has a melody its music, but Very bad music at that

  • @yankeesarethebest224 A world inhabited by Ke$ha, Gaga and Beiber, and you're whining about Fall Out Boy?

I love FOB myself, but you can be glad they're broken up, I suppose.

  • I can't Believe this magic was made in 91 , These guys r already legends and how they cant be recignized by some ppl blows my mind...not near enough credit...All stupid pop fag bands who sing and make me wanna punch my radio.. And Gish was SOLID

  • didnt the chili peppers bring them on tour with them in 91
