this is good and idiot too. it is good if there is life and they know we are somwhere! and it takes milions of years to reach such of a point thats why it is idiot!
Not saying i want fewer people to listen to Lady Gaga, she quite good at what she does. I think the world on the whole might be a better place if more people took the time to embrace all great works of art.
imagine you lived in an advanced civilization, the voyager space craft has just landed on your planet, and you listened to this strange golden record, from beginning to end... what impressions do you have of whoever sent this from their home planet?
The voyager space craft doesn't have the ability to land without crashing.
If it destroyed my stuff, I'd declare war on Earth and zap those idiotic nasa engineers.
If it doesn't destroy my stuff, the records would probably be melted/vaporized/broken already. Might sell it for scrap metal.
In the unlikely event it survives crash landing at supersonic speeds, I'd say whoever sending this must be doing propaganda. You're just hiding all the wars, death, evil and destruction.
@soccom8341576 that's why our best bet to get rid of stupid people is education. that way we know wars are bad, and we don't destroy everything in our path. seriously, some kids grow up thinking that shooting someone is just part of life. O_O
@allpainppd Lady Gaga gets millions of views because she's popular at the moment, she's a very good writer of music. So she doesn't write symphonies! Oh well! She writes good music all the same, maybe you don't like it, but I can see the good in both this and Poker Face, or Paparazzi!
@mickeymoo26 still i cant see gaga blasting through space on a record made to represent what humanity is capable of and has to offer. for contempo (pop) artists, probably Micheal Jackson
@mickeymoo26 The Brandenburg Concertos represent a high water point of mankind's creative powers. A thousand years, ten thousand years; there is no period of time over which it can be reasonably predicted that the human race will stop listening to Bach with pleasure and amazement. Lady Gaga, on the other hand, will be forgotten within her own lifetime.
@david689908 Well no its not playing now it's just sitting there the aliens have to build the player and turn it on and if it where you couldn't hear it because of the vacume of space but your right your way would be awesomer.
The actual record was made to be played at 16 and 2/3 RPM. It would be useless unless you had a custom turntable. Plus it's coated with radioactive uranium-238. I'd be happy with a cheap knock-off!
lol E.T. must think must think humanity is german because of all this german composer sent to outer space :D
