  • Ganesha Pancharatna Stotra is not composed by Adi Shankaraachaarya. First half was composed by Shri Shri Narasimha Bharathi Swamiji and second half by Shri Shri Chandrashekhara Bharathi Swamiji of SRINGERI Sharada Dakshinamnaaya Peetha in 20th Century. ( First half is up to " Mabhyupaiti Sochiraath", Second half is up to " Soonavona samshayaha".This is very authentic information.

  • thank you lot

  • Thanks for posting. Gives some great information about Ganesh. His food offerings, Ganesh as a baby, ... I loved the henna hands, Ganesha sorrounded by coloured prints around the middle of the clp, (I dont quite understand in one of the images some white board he is holding): Loved the carving with the pink flowers, (Would also like to know what is the sign on Ajna coloured red) ... and, a lot more that I wont be able to say today. Thanks again

  • Jai Sri Ganesh!

  • Very nice

  • song takes me to a different world of sorrow free.... praise the Lord Ganesha!!!

    HAIL GANESH!!!!!!!

  • Excellent .Who can render such divine slokas with a melliferous melody and flawless pronunciation other than MS.

  • it took me 19 years to finally appreciate this song,

    and I'm currently 19.

  • In this modern age of computer and technology, people are slowly moving away from the basics, culture, religion, god and running behind a printed paper called money. This brings more miseries and sorrows to them, which is very evident in everyone's life. Though we call science to have advanced, more diseases, miseries and early deaths are worsening the human life. People don't realise the value of religion, culture & values that brings more happiness. Such beautiful & meaning songs prove that.

  • Mr.Sridar is dot on point. All of us in this materialistic world are dirven by money which makes people forget our basics. Hyms like these, rekindle our thoughts to a great extent to go towards that path of reality and go closer to realising ourselves which is the ultimate goal of each living being in his Universe.

    || om namah shivayh ||

  • What wonderful voice perfectly matching to devotion. Great!

  • Stanza 5: I constantly reflect upon that single tusked God only, whose lustrous tusk is very beautiful, who is the son of Lord Shiva, (Shiva, the God of destruction), whose form is immortal and unknowable, who tears asunder all obstacles, and who dwells forever in the hearts of the Yogis.

  • hi,thanks a lot for ur interest to post d translation here....

  • Stanza 4: I worship the ancient elephant God who destroys the pains of the poor, who is the abode of Aum, who is the first son of Lord Shiva (Shiva who is the destroyer of triple cities), who destroys the pride of the enemies of the Gods, who is frightening to look at during the time of world's destruction, who is fierce like an elephant in rut and who wears Dhananjaya and other serpents as his ornaments.

  • Stanza 3: I bow down with my whole mind to the shining Ganapati who brings happiness to all the worlds, who destroyed the demon Gajasura, who has a big belly, beautiful elephant face, who is immortal, who gives mercy, forgiveness and happiness to those who bow to Him and who bestows fame and a well disposed mind.

  • Stanza 2: I meditate eternally on Him, the Lord of the Ganas, who is frightening to those not devoted, who shines like the morning sun, to whom all the Gods and demons bow, who removes the great distress of His devotees and who is the best among the best.

  • Stanza 1:

Lord Vinaayaka who joyously holds modaka in His hand, who bestows salvation, who wears the moon as a crown in His head, who is the sole leader of those who lose themselves in the world. The leader of the leaderless who destroyed the elephant demon called Gajaasura and who quickly destroys the sins of those who bow down to Him, I worship such a Lord Ganesh.

  • English translation:

Note 1: I found the exact same translation in several other sites, so I'm not able to cite a single authentic source

Note 2: Since its long, I've to do this in five parts (for the five stanzas she sings)
