Idk how long you've been into TFOT/TTYW, but Tom has always been a pretty big showoff. He has fun with the crowds, he gets into it a lot. I'd rather it be like that then dull and boring. Manipulator is not awful, it actually grows on you a lot if you give it a chance. The first half was definitely weaker than the second half of it, though. PotH could have been better, but I personally thought they did a great job with the first three chapters... ghostships 4 and 5 were much better, though.
