P. Lumumba is among the all time African icons. It is beyond reason to see how fellow Congolese could be a tool of the colonial/slave holder against well enlightened, liked leader! Patrice was killed in cold blood – in unthinkable way. We admire, adore & beam in pride by his unmatched bravery act! I'm glad you include the inevitable first step of colonial history of Congo: this very large area was as you actually pointed out, Leopold's "personal property". Moreover when the old king get fed up of "his Congo", he ceded (he demanded his subjects to accept this huge and hard to manage land as a present) "his" property to Belgium against its will.

You're right when you underscored how criminal the colonial power was when it deprived locals from education, dooming them for the future.

Lumumba could have beeen one of the great lights of African democracy,but Belgian colonialists would have none of this. Worthwhile documentary, needs to be expanded, especially in regards to the murder of Lumumba. Great story, would be even better if it were longer.
