I remember those ugly ass hall (and room) decorations of the old ships. I was wondering if the Costa Concordia had the same decor as the Carnival Paradise. I took the same cruise in 2007.

@albear972 Costa ships are built the same shape as Carnival since they use the same class. Otherwise, since its a Italion company, the decor will be totally differnt.

@kilteddave1 Not quite true. The Carnival Paradise is a Fantasy Class ship. This class is only used by Carnival. Now the Destiny Class Cruise liners are used by both Costa and Carnival.

@pscott90 I wasnt talking about the Paradise and fantasy Class.. I KNOW its a fantasy class, i did did a cruise on her back in 2002 when it was "Non Smoking". I was talking about the Costa ship was same "hull" exterior as the larger Carnival ships since the same builder builds for both of those cruiselines. Ive been on 10 Carnival cruises and is aware of what class and size ships they have.

@mattmax11 How would I know?? For one thing, those stairs are "above" the waterline. Water dosent flow uphill to get into a ship unless its pumped. People arent standing funny and holding onto walls so i know the ship is still "level". Also. I have some experance from ships systems since i was on 3 of them while in Navy. So the flooding you see is from a plumbing source or tank overflow. Its not raw sea water from outside. I also did a 7 day cruise on the Paradise when it was non smoking.

There is no way that ship sank. I would know i have worked on one for a year and this my friends is just a water pipe problem. I remember waken up and water a foot deep in my room when an officer was letting us out. It was no big deal. They cleaned up the mess within about 2 hours. But it can be scary but don't panic otherwise you may cause more problems.

For everyone asking why the water is "going in the wrong direction".. you need to understand a ship is a series of rooms, hallways, stairs etc... It's very typical to see water surging through a door on a sinking ship simply because the weight of the ship is pushing down faster than the water can fill up the maze of hallways and rooms etc..

It was the pipe that fills and drains the pool with sea water daily on the Lido deck that broke . The entire pool drained into the ship, luckily it's not a huge pool but what a mess.
