My broblem with this game is that the enemy somtimes cheat. I had a battle in Helms Deep against 5 enemys, and they all had two turn eatch, then two of my member got a turn, and then the enemy got two turns in a row for all it's player, I got so murdered and the game did not give me a chanse to fight back. Oh and the game don't auto save, fun.. Other than that it is a relly fun game.

@TheXLink I imagine your speed stat or whatever determines the fighting order had to do with them attacking first and a lot more often.

@5b Yeah I figure that, but even so, sitting for 5 turns and just look at your team get ownd, then get one turn for the only guy left is not so fun. But I am not the best rpg player so it may be my fault XD The only rpg I play now is Oblivion, and it reminds me so much of this game :)

@TheXLink I honestly can't get into Oblivion (though I loved the one before, Morrowind). I prefer turn based RPGs like this, Final Fantasy, Star Ocean, Fire Emblem, etc.

@5b I suck to hard on turn based rpg's to enjoy them fully. And Morrowind is aswesome, but I can't get the combat to work, I am not a fan of dice rolls in games. But Oblivion just klicked for me, and now I am hocked. What is your favorite rpg? Just curious :)

@TheXLink Not sure I could pick a favorite. But an old game for the PS1 named Legend of the Dragoon is probably the one I enjoyed the most. The combat is completely original and the storyline is pretty damn in-depth.

I really did enjoy this game. I'm a huge LOTR fan and I think this was a solid and well-executed side story.

I know I'm a little late, but excellent review. I always thought this was one of the most underrated WRPGs out there, and it's nice to see it get some recognition. It's nowhere near perfect, but to see even a decent level of competence in a game like this is impressive. My only real complaint is that there's no Progressive Scan and 16:9 support, as I play my PS2 games on an HDTV these days. Component cables do help, though.

All in all this game was good, but the last two fights were not in the films and make no sense.

I mean c'mon, fighting Sauron atop barad-dur whilst the ring is but moments away from being destroyed? How did they get there before EVERYONE else and Get ALL THE WAY to the top etc. If those things were actually answered in some way it would of been ace.

And if i'm right they die because they're atop there right? xD Haven't played this game for 4 or 5 years now :/

I actualy never knew there was a lord of the rings RPG out there (not a big LOTR fan), seems ok, i just dont like turn based battles. And something's wrong with the characters head... They just look wierd...
